Well, once you come to Canada, you HAVE to learn how to see the puck! It doesn't go that fast. And it's a BLACK puck on WHITE ice. And then you make fun of the blue dot that surrounds the puck on some of the American channels. :funny: :funny: :funny:

I'm not sure Scrabble qualifies as a sport, unless maybe it's full-contact Scrabble.

A boy who played with my brother did figure skating and it really helped him.
I didn't do figure skating... I took some skating lessons, but I wish I'd taken more because my skating is awful. :o I really need to improve it!

Ah, European talk! :funny: In hockey there is no striker. Well, in English there isn't. You're usually a winger or a centre- both forwards. And I play forward- left wing or centre. I can't play defense to save my life! :funny: (in any sport!!!!)

Forward it is! Hmm, you gotta skate backwards well, if you would be a defender, would that be your tripping point?

I KNOW you're European! :p That's why it's European talk! :p
My tripping point? Well, I'd definately trip a lot trying to skating backwards while trying to take the puck off someone!! I can't even do that skate forwards! :p

tripping point = your problem with defencing, or your actual tripping if you try to skate backwards :p

There is one- the NWHL. It has teams in Toronto, Brampton, Montreal, and some other places in Ontario and Quebec and BC. They're expanding more to the west this year, and hopefully to the States.
Unfortunately, the players have very low salaries, and the teams don't get much recognition. There just isn't enough funding given for proper promotion.
The 2 most well known NWHL teams are the Beatrice Aeros and the Brampton Thunder. Team Canada players and veterans such as Cassie Campbell, Lori Dupuis, Jayna Hefford, Vicky Sunohara, Sami Jo Small, Cheryl Pounder, Karen Nystrom, Gerialdine Heany and Becky Kellar play on/played for those teams.

the Nhl could help with advertising and publisty, as well as do tie in promotions to give the league a little boost.

YA gotta spend money to make money. They could guide its path to where it could operate on its own. I can't see there being no money in womens hockey, Its hockey.
