My internet homepage is the MSN Austria page. The other day I opened it to find a picture of the square in Salzburg in front of Mozart's birthplace underwater. We were their about three years ago and I was remembering the wonderful time we had in Austria, Prague and Germany. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Have any of the members in Europe been affected by the floods?

Yeah, I know! The problem is only in the city i live in. We heard last saturday that it was pulloted and we were told not to drink it, but we can still use it for cooking ect. They know what caused the problem ( I can't explain it in english) but they still haven't cleaned the water or whatever they do about it  Think maybe Monday we should be able to drink it again.
Last time that was like 2 years ago it was much worse, we couldn't even take a shower:shocked:

Your countries aren't the only ones. Here in Australia Victoria, We had a gas strike. Some areas that had gas anyway. I might add aswell a few months agon in March we had a really bad storm it was like an electric show going off.

No, it doesnīt affect us very much, we had a lot of water in Vienna, the danube was going over the shore and last week when I was driving in the car it was pretty scary cause there was so much water on the street, you could only drive very slow and you didnīt see very much!

We're not affected by the floods here in Switzerland either. But it must be so horrible for the poor people in Germany, Czech Rep, Austria... they lost everything except the clothes they're wearing. It makes me sad! :(

Yeah some parts of Austria are flooded, it's so terrible. But like Jasmin said we are not affected but big parts of Lower Austria, Upper Austria and Salzburg are affected badly. I hope people there have got the strengh to carry on through these hard times. Many of them have lost everything

Yeah, that's really too bad.
In this part of the world, we're very lucky because we don't ever experience any major natural distasters. We don't get earthquakes, floods, tornados, hurricanes, major snow storms or anything. The only problems we really encounter are heat, humidity and smog problems.

And they forecasted another week of heat! EEK!

Strange weather patterns for years now. :uhh:

The floods starting to affect Germany and Elbe now? It should be a bit better in Prague?
