Apart from IGGG this is the only Up! song that I have heard but it is my all time favourite (apart from HAWHHIA). I love it! if the rest of Up! is this good, this album will outsell COO!

I agree, but there are some issues. One is to figure out which version is the best. I don't know about the international version and which songs you guys are hearing, but I know that some of these songs are amazing in the Country Version, some are not so good in the Country version but fantastic in the POP version. It's been a struggle trying to figure out which one I like the best. I do agree with you about "It only hurts when I'm breathing." Great song.

I LOOOOOOOOOVe this song!!!!!!! Like every other one!!:D:D::):)
This is one of the most amazing songs I have ever heard about taking responsibility for your actions.
I know they'll try, but there is no way any would-be Shania critics will have any credibility if in their reviews of Up! they write about Shania's songs not having any substance.
She's Not Just A Pretty Face and Ka-Ching! also nuke the bogus argument about the shallowness of the content of Shania's songs.

This is definitely one of my top 5 favorite Shania songs. Shania's songs have always had substance. I really dislike critics who say her music has no substance. Sure, some of her music is fun, but why not? Music is to entertain. Some days you just need those light hearted tunes to bring you UP :) But on every album Shania has had deeper, meaningful songs: her first album had many, TWIM had TWIM, HAWHHIA, ROOL , ITLAL, Come On Over had Black Eyes, Blue Tears, and several songs about feminism MIFLAW-those have substance about the equality of men and women. And on Up! Shania has even more songs with substance: She's Not Just A Pretty Face, Juanita, Ka-Ching, It Only Hurts When I'm Breathing, I'm Jealous, I Ain't Goin' Down, etc. So critics who bash singers for saying they have no substance simply use that as an argument because they have nothing else bad to say!! That's my opinion anyway :)
I prefer the pop version of I Ain't Goin' Down to the country version. It's a great song.

As someone who was born smack dab in the middle of the Baby Boom, let me criticize my generation.
I think too many music critics look longingly back at the 1960s when too many of my generation thought that somehow song lyrics were going to change the world. If that is your standard for songs having substance, then thank goodness that Shania's don't.
I also agree wholeheartedly with the last part of your post. The pickier a critic has to get (and complaining about popular song's substance is pretty picky), the more the critic is actually unintentionally praising something he or she thinks he is criticizing.

Critics - real and amateur - all generally have one thing in common - they cannot do what the person they are critiquing does and they are frustrated because of it and need to vent in some way.
Some know how to express themselves pleasantly, eloquently and humbly and others are may seem coarse, petty, vindictive and arrogant.
A critic's comments are generally a reflection of their personality and upbringing and their normal manners in general.

A great saying I came across recently:
Critics are those who make a living off the genius of others.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song.:) It they say this isn't a country song then they have their heads to far down in the sand. I haven't heard any of the pop versions, but the country version is GREAT.

That it is. Awesome! If you haven't done so, listen to the Country version.

This is a very good song. And the country version really sounds country! To heck with those critics who say she ain't country at all!
I've heard the country version of this song and it's good. I'll wait until I hear the pop version 'cause this one's a little too country. The more I listen to it, the more I like it though.
A song I love is "Waiter, Bring Me Water". Has anyone heard that one? :)

I love the Country version so much more. This is a true country song and should be received well by the country format. The Country version seems to fit the lyrics so much better than the pop version. The music is so light while the lyrics seem so deep. I desperately hope she releases this to country radio. Btw, I heard it tonight on my local radio station and afterwards the station was flooded with praise about the song. Go Shania!!!
This song should be a definate hit for country radio!
