Nashville insider Jimmy Carter, who writes a weekly Rumbles From the Row column for an radio industry web site has always struck me as one of the typical Shania critics who have made her the She Devil and responsible for everything wrong in the world, including the direction of country music.
I think I might have been wrong. I think he might have a secret crush on her and has to obsess or criticize her in his column to stay on the right side of Shania's industry critics and fool them in thinking he is one of them.
What follows is the lead to his weekly column:

… near the Master's course in Augusta,Ga. More on the Augusta thing in a second, but the story of the year has to be from The Globe in Toronto … which is reporting the web discussion/debate that Shania has a wooden foot!
Just in case you have heard everything, I bet you didn't know about this! Seems some Brits have never seen her legs or feet and claim she doesn't move much in her videos - so, obviously, she must have a wood foot! Someone bite the woman and let me know if you get splinters!
The Music Row elite and some invited artists/radio people sure were star struck at Luke Lewis's house, which where Shania was pawed/poked at/photographed last week. A little more and I bet she would have beamed up. That's not her favorite thing, anyway. I do understand she handled things very well (did they check her feet?? Hmm …) Hey, I just saw a woodpecker fly out of her pants!
(Then after writing about other subjects, he ended his column with the following sentence):
That's it, I'm outta here. I guess I'll go try and search for Shania's wooden leg.
Two things strike me about this column:
1) Carter is always complaining about how the industry is writing too much about Shania and not enough about other new and/or more traditional artists. What hypocrisy!! He had to lead with this sophomoric attempt at humor instead of NOT WRITING about Shania. Like maybe he could have profiled one of those new hopefuls that he has wished for in previous colums. Someone who will come along to vanquish this She Devil and send her back, for good, to Switzerland never to bother Nashville again with her music.
2) I think Carter has several magazines with Shania in them under his bed and the pages with photos of her are stuck together.
