I believe it will be 900k since it's a double, but I hope it does better than that. My goodness, Wal-Mart online sold out! :)
Umm no. I highly doubt it will sell less than 900k units. It will not be counted as 2 cds per package.

900k will be the actual sales units. Which means that 900,000 units of the UP! package were sold. So you would actually double that number if you wanted to take into consideration the 2 discs, which would come to 1.8 million. But for the sake of straight album sales, 900,000 copies of UP! flew off of the store shelves.
Note - that number may change. It's being estimated at anywhere between 800k and 900k, but the exact numbers might be higher or lower. We'll have to wait and see.

I posted this somewhere else, but Thought it woulfit in her as well.

The Shania CD is selling, yes, and it move 300,000 units on day one. That's great by any standard, but the bar on this album was placed very high for one week sales. They supposedly want a million sold in the first week, and now some have lowered that expected sales figure to 800,000. It will debut at number one on both the Pop and Country charts, but her team wanted to establish a big beachhead with a million sold.
This could have easily been achieved for Shania with another single than "I'm Gonna Getcha Good"...I don't think that song had had the impact her team wanted...it's catchy but too safe, and it belongs more with her COO days, so people think her music has not changed! That's what I heard a lot of people say
Personally I would have went with something bolder, either:
1. Jealous
2. Thank You Baby! (For Making Someday Come So Soon)
3. What A Way To Wanna Be

"Up!" should not be counted as 2 albums. That would be really unfair, considering it's practically the same album done twice.

i agree with DJMc , the songs are much more different than im gonna getcha good. It's the only song that is really related to COO. Maybe that was their goal... To swich slowly, if you liked COO youll buy it because of IGGG, and after well hear new tracs and people who didn''T like COO will maybe be influenced to buy UP!! This is my theory, maybe not good but thats my explanation
take care :D

I had to buy two Cassette Tapes, One red and one green because the music would fit on one GD. The fact that the CD is two, should be counted as two. Everyone else has been able to do that. YOu are buying two CD's, just because they are priced lower then one, shouldn't matter
Just an opinion:)

It's how many it sells in the fullness of time that really matters, the first weeks sales seem to be no pointer to how many an album sells in total. Take COO, someone posted that it sold 188K in the first week and it then went on to sell 34M, but N Sync sold 2.4M in the first week and as far as I can remember doesnt feature in the top 10 albums of all time. And yes I agree it should only count ONCE as it is ONE purchase. N Sync curiously enough have never done that well in Britain.
COO sold 3M in Britain in 1999 and was the biggest selling CD that year but although Up is in my opinion even better I doubt it will sell half as many over here, simply because it never happens twice!
But time will tell.
Good point, it's one thing to start big...it's another thing to have a good life in the charts...maybe Shania would benefit more from not being overexposed from the get-go. But I sure hope they make clever single choices to give this album a commercial chance PLUS show a growth in Shania's songwriting
