This was just posted on alt.fan.shania-twain Let's hope it's true!

just got my new issue of Billboard magazine and it says:

"UP!" has sold 1.5 million in the U.S. in its first week.
International sales will bring the grand total to 3 million in the 1st week.

Experts are predicting total sales to top out at about 11-12 million.

I think after that Grey Cup Showing that you can add another million by Tuesday!!

There is no way to predict Shania's total sales. It's way too early for that. Also, the week does not end until Tuesday.

just got my new issue of Billboard magazine and it says:

Do you SUBSCRIBE to that?? That's GOT to be expensive! One issue costs like, $7.00- the mag is very informative but for that price I'll just go into Borders, sit in a comfy chair and read it :)

1.5- that's AWESOME!! times 2 is even better! Did she beat any kind of records?? GO SHANIA! :)

First of all, the sales week does not end until 11:59 on Monday Evening in the US, Then when the official numbers are calculated, you can usually find out Tuesday or Wednesday. Meantime, the news Charts go to press, and are then mailed out, so there is no way that number is official.
Second, it is a scary number! If it is 1.5 million and they counted the album as 2 units, then it only sold 750K the first week. If it is 1.5 million and did not count it, that means...well..they did not count it as 2 units. We will have to wait a day or 2 for the real numbers. That probably was a prediction.

750,000 is pretty darn good since COO only has 185,000 first week. GIve it time, the album will build just like COO

I did not say it wasn't good. COO sold 188,00 its first week btw. The predictions made were anywhere from 800K- 1.2 million, for which the number is lower, that's all.

Actually it sold 168,000 copies it's first week just behind Mase who sold 172,00 copies.

My apologies. I was wrong. After researching I found Mase's "Harlem World" in its second week sold 175,000, COO's debut week. COO sold 172,000.
