It is new. I saw snippits from tonights interview on the Today show Today and on tv throughout the day. There are segments of her and Katie walking through the snow. There is one scene where Shania is teaching Katie moves from the Deerhurst Resort. Looks very good! Be sure to watch tonight- Tuesday, 11/26/02, NBC, 10/9 Central. (Also included is Sharon Stone and George Harrison's widow).

It was great to see her in that type of environment, getting to be herself. You don't get to see that. She's usually interviewed in different settings such as TV shows, award shows in front of the spotlight. This was a great interview, she seems so cool. Shania and Katie really seemed to click. It wasn't the most insightful interview, but one of the most enjoyable. What a great day, Shania twice!!!!

Yes most of her fans coud have answered the soft lobs posing as questions that Katie tossed at Shania but it was great to see Eilleen as a regular person and not in her star persona. Too bad the transcriber continues the misspelling of her given name with one L.

I thought she looked great. Little make up, dressed in everyday clothes. Very natural and pretty. :)

I loved the "I'm Real and this is what I do" line. I guess you can say that's an "Up Yours" to her critics. Maybe that should be the tour name.:smirk:

It was an interesting interview. I'm just tired of hearing about her childhood. I'm sure she can recite the answers to those questions in her sleep by now.

Shania certainly does have a public and personal persona. They are worlds apart, and it's hard to believe both are from one person.

I've always loved hearing Shania in interviews because she's thoughtful and intelligent. I thought it was a good argument from her for why Nashville disliked her because she was too sexy and revealing. That's a good point about the singers who drank themselves till they were on the ground and divorced a few times. Good rebuttal, Shania.

I don't understand, however, how she says she's real but displays a completely different personality in front of the camera. How is that real?

Shania is soooo naturally beautiful, even in subtle makeup and casual clothes.

I liked the interview. True, we didn't learn any new facts (and were well aware of the mistakes), but I wasn't disappointed. I thought Shania looked fabulous and spoke eloquently. Most of all, I thought it was a glimpse at the personal "Eilleen" instead of the public "Shania" we usually see in interviews. Yes, Katie was a lightweight, but I think it allowed "Eilleen" to come out. They were talking like two girlfriends so to my eyes it all seemed very natural. I wish Katie had directed the conversation so Shania would have talked more about Eja and being a mom. Unfortunately, I don't think we will ever be allowed into the private world of Eilleen/Shania so I was glad for the little glimpse the interview gave me.

The show was fabulous and made me even respect Shania even more which I thought wasn't possible, but she did. :) She is just the most down to earth person there is! She just makes me feel so good about myself when she talks about her dreams which she never gave up on. I admire her with all of my heart and am just so proud to be a Shania Twain FANatic more than ever now. :):):):) Rock on,SHANIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D::D

I really enjoyed the interview, and I liked the part where she chided Nashville for being upset about her midriff, when other Country stars were drinking themselves on the floor. So true. I always remember feeling it was unusual when Garth talked about himself in the third person, like "Garth" was someone else. But Shania does the same thing with Eilleen. She's referring to "Shania" more and more as a separate entity from Eilleen. I think that in both cases, that's healthy. Never forgetting who you are, and not getting caught up in the trappings of fame is the way to go. So, ST lives in Switzerland, and Garth lives in Oklahoma, and both are striving for a normal life when they're not working. That's a healthy thing. She looked wonderful, and spoke intelligently. Quite a woman. Not just a pretty face.

Being a Canadian, I say you GO GIRL! That big old ugly Canada hat was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Good to see she hasn't forgotten where she came from!! She is the ultimate, and she was so funny and well-spoken. Good job!

I LOVED the interview- she and Katie just looked so close together!! But I cringed the two times I heard this error- Shania was supposedly the oldest of all 5 kids?? Uhh, unless I've lost it isn't Shania the second oldest??

I really loved this interview. My two favorite parts were one, when she spoke of the lifestyle of the old-time country stars and how pure her life is by comparison, questioning Nashville's critical attitude towards her. My second favorite part was when she spoke about Shania and Eilleen as two different entities and how there is so much more to Eilleen. I wish she would share more of Eilleen with us, but given her love for privacy I don't expect much, which is why this interview was special. She sounded like she was anxious to get the publicity part of the CD over with and couldn't wait for the right amount of time to pass so her fans could familiarize themselves with the music. She obviously loves partying with her fans and looks forward to throwing some more big parties for them. I, for one, can't wait either!

:D      :D

Man....will there ever be a GOOD Shania interview...She is turning into MUTT!!! Like Katie said: "He's not only low profile...He's no profile....Shania is heading that way...."Mark these words"....

F&^K, I wish Shania could truely be herself beyond the camera!! And quite frankly in front of it!!

She is one of the most intelligent ladies I have ever seen in interviews. She gives just enough info away to keep us interested, yet, keeps the private part seperate and hidden. Most stars of her stature have a hard time seperating the star from the real person. Shania seems to have it down to a science. And that is very healthy for the Eilleen that is hidden from us, the fans.

She has never enjoyed this part of being a star. You can go back as far as you can, and you will find articles with Shania stating how she doesn't like interviews, but fully understands that it is part of the game. She enjoys the touring and seems anxious to get that part started again.

There is a side to her that we will never know and I think it was explained to the fans on the special (Inside Shania). Only two people have got to know the real Eilleen up close and personal. Mary and Mutt.

Enjoy the gift that she has, and shares with us the Fans. It, in itself is very special.
