Actually the Irish position is a bit dissapointing as I would have expected her to have hit no 1 easily in Ireland with it being a big country music country. Maybe it will climb.

No, the link i gave you was to the official uk top 40. 37 is where she is. The positions you are referring to is for the individual stores position (as in how many copies its sold in there stores E.G woolworths, around the country)

But 37 is the official position for UP! from all the stores, net etc put together!!

Your darn right!! The most annoying thing is with the singles chart!! As soon as it is announced on the sunday night, Woolworths have all the next days releases in the chart at the positions, they think they'll be the following sunday. it must confuse the hell out of people. I know it certainly does me, so the only one i pay attention to is the official Radio 1 chart every sunday.

I seriously doubt that the tour will not come to Finland,
Stockholm, Sweden will propably be the closest...

Shania is a visual artist = to be able to create sales she needs
exposure!

It's the same with Peter Gabriel (who just happens to have a
new album out as well, called up :)). In 1987 he released So,
and they had the hit Sledgehammer playing on radio and TV...
and surprisingly enough - the man came to Helsinki! Today
on the other hand, there are many who haven't got the slightest
idea that Gabriel has a new album out - it's not being played on
radio or shown on Finnish TV... and the charts performance:
week 1: 11
week 2: 22
week 3: 40
week 4: dropped out and no re-entry so far...

and now I'm looking at Peter Gabriel's European Tour dates for
2003... is Helsinki listed? NO! And in 1987 he had a sold-out
concert here!

So, the Finnish record companies are blaming the Internet and
pirated manufacturing for the slipping sales figures..? Perhaps
they should take a long look into a mirror and see if they can find
anything wrong at that end! :mad:

Very good post FinnFreak!! :up: :up: There are so many things that I am too wondering why are they that way :confused: It has been shown that finnish audience is willing to see big stars, live or via TV. For example Bruce Springsteen. His concert in Helsinki next June was outsold in one hour. We were lucky that Helsinki is the first place in his world tour, so he was able to arrange another concert on the day before (I was lucky to get tickets to this first concert :shocked: ) So, there is potential in finnish audience. It just needs to be set on fire.

What a wonderful program was that "Shania´s New Look", but shown at midnight it got only the diehard fans to watch it :really:
Shania is a very good "product", but if nobody promotes her correctly here, nobody will buy her album either... :sad:

That's our biggest problem - we tolerate all kind of s**t,

I can only say how embarrassed I feel just because
someone incompetent is doing a sloppy job!

The Internet, mp3s & piracy shouldn't be used as excuses...
they are symptoms... and I'm 100% sure that copy protection
is NOT the cure!

Shania & Co. are definitely approaching the issue with a winner:
giving more value for the money! I'd just like to see someone
else doing their share of work as well...
