The new album of Shania Twain UP! sold its first week around the world 6.5 million copies. The first release, I’m Gonna Getcha Good! Stormed to the charts' top not only in the world, but here in Hungary too became the listeners favorite. After its one week release UP! Is 5x Platinum in Canada , 4x in the US and certificated Platinum right away in Norway, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia and New-Zealand.
It certificated Gold in Denmark, France, Ireland, Sweden, Indonesia, and Tailand. In Australia the album debuted at #1, in Norway #2, in the UK #4.
The first single from UP!, I'm Gonna getcha Good! Already between the TOP 10 on the whole world. The next single from UP! Is I'm Not In The Mood (To Say No)!, for which will be filmed a video too in the beginning of December.

Shania Twain Up! címû új albumából világszerte 6 és fél millió példány kelt el a megjelenést követõ héten. Az elsõ kimásolt kislemez, az I'm Gonna Getcha Good nemcsak a küldföldi slágerlistákat ostromolja;nálunk is a rádiók kedvencévé vált.
Az Up a megjelenés utáni héten Kanadában 5x platinalemez, az Egyesült Államokban 4x platinalemez, de platinalemez lett rögtön Norvégiában, Egyesült Királyságban, Svájcban, Japánban, Ausztráliában és Új-Zélandon.
Aranylemez lett Dániában, Franciaországban, Írországban, Svédországban, Indonéziában és Tájföldön. Ausztráliában ért el elsõként elsõ helyezést az album, Norvégiában 2. helyen debütált a listákon, az Egyesült Királyságban pedig 4. helyezettként.
Az Up! Címû album elsõ kimásolt kislemeze az I’m Gonna Getcha Good máris Top 10 felvétel között van az egész világon. A következõ kislemez az Up!-ról az I’m Not In The Mood (To Say No)!, amelyhez december elején videóklip is készül.

Did she sell 6.5 million or did they ship 6.5 million? cause it says the US went 4 million which is what they shipped. :confused:
That means they're counting it as a single album(Soundscan) so it would be 13 million worldwide RIAA(double album)???

Oh, if you leave out 3 million (the difference between sold and shipped in US), we would get a number that is still very impressive 3.5 million :D

I don't wish to put a downer on this thread but I simply don't believe those are actual sales figures. The US is the only country where you are going to get massive sales, and we are told she sold 874500 copies in the first week, and I would expect that to at least equal the sales for the rest of the world. Reember COO sold 19K more than the rest of the world put together.

I don't know what the sales figures are for the UK but after two weeks it hasn't got a symbol next to it on the Dotmusic website to indicate ir has reached the first milestone of 60k. In the UK to reach platinum status you have to sell 300K , and I can't see it doing that with our current level of sales. Unless of course Dotmusic haven't updated the symbols.

I would like to see a country by country breakdown . I would suspect these are sales to stores around the world.

Hope they are right tho!

I agree with - don' know if 6.5 Mil is correct. The original poster related he translated this info from a Hungarian source that Universal put this out? However my guess would be that this figure refers to CDUNITS shipped and not sold. But by first week news so far Shania is doing well in US.
