In the previous decade, Canada has been recognized for their talent especially on the female side. From longtime artists such as Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Alanis Morissette to new Worldwide smashhits Avril Lavigne and Nelly Furtado. It's great to see Canada represented so well. I think Shania Twain and Celine Dion are the #1 and #2 female artists of the 90s in term of album sales. WTG Girls!

Now we have Avril Lavigne making movement around the world with her album still on the charts everywhere and her hit single "Complicated" topping everywhere. And Shania sure to follow in suit with UP!

As a i guy, i just have to say "You Go Girls" Representing our country.

Don't forget Chris Jericho, not only is he a sucessful professional wrestler, he's a HUGE rock star! His metal band Fozzy is on the rise! I think he was also voted sexiest man in Manitoba, but considering that I am a male myself, I'm not going to look into that.

Shaggy's Canadian? It's a shame more Canadian artists aren't successful worldwide though. We have some great bands that never have success outside of Canada.

Yup...he's from Toronto i think. I've seen him a few times on the streets. I was shocked to see how many sales he has worldwide. He did very well in the UK and Australia i think.

Bryan Adams is very talented but i haven't heard anything recently. We need up and coming male talent.

That's it i'm gonna become a singer!! :P

I don't think he is Canadian. I remember him talking about how he got his nickname "Shaggy" when he was in the U.S. army. Don't you have to be born in the states to be in the army?

At one point around 1997-98 the top-selling female artists in the United States in the major musical genres were all Canadian - the top female rock artist was Alanis, the top female pop artist was Celine, and the top female country artist was Shania.

Did you guys know that Avril Lavigne has broken sales records set by Madonna? Very cool! Shania was talking about that during the Much More Music interview when she saw that video clip of Avril's.

now that's an amazing feat. I figured something like that must have happened from those 3 during some time period.
