Here's how a sampling of music critics from across the country graded Shania's UP! CD in the January 3, 2003 Issue of Entertainment Weekly:

B- - Robert Hilburn, Los Angeles Times
C - Greg Kot, Chicago Tribune
C - Edna Gundersen, USA Today
C+ - Evelyn McDonnell, The Miami Herald
B- - Sonia Murray, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A - Entertainment Weekly

B- - Critics' Average

I can't believe this...a B- average! But what do most of these critics know anyway? The only smart one in the bunch is the Entertainment Weekly critic. They did not give a name. Haven't the others seen how well UP! is selling? Shania is showing them!!!

Basically, IMO, they are so pathetic that they wanna take any oppurtunity to bad-mouth Shania as she kickingg the a$$ of all the idiots they like to listen to.

Hmmmm....2.6 million vote yes; 5 vote no. I'd say they're in the minority. :funny:

Seems very biased and not a fair sampling, eh??

So many music "critics" are just full of **** &
their own self-importance.I wonder how many of the critics actually listen to a review album-
especially a long one like UP!-all the way through? If it's not the sort of music they're
into, they want to get over it quick, write a few
what they consider to be "witty" put-downs,&
go on to some stuff they're into.

Yes, I'd like to know why these six and what their taste in music is. How did they qualify to evaluate Shania's album?

I actually thought most of the media's reviews of Up! were better than what I would have guessed back before it was released.

Yes, they have been generally good. I could care less about critics. Shania makes great music that appeals to regular people out there and that is what counts.
