I don't know. I suppose the only people that know are Shania, Mutt and if she doesn't read them all the others that do.

I actually managed to get a letter into her posession as well... :)
Have no idea wether she actually read it though.

She probably reads some, but she wouldn't have much time for singing if she had to read all of them :D

As for the gifts, she probably has hundreds, thousands even. But then Shania and Mutt probably have some spare space in their house for them all :D

I remember recently Shania said that she hates recieving gifts because when she was nothing and was poor no one gave her anything, and now that's she's famous and has eveything she needs, people give her things. I don't know about you guys, but I agree with her. Flowers and letters etc are cool but i dunno about gifts!

Gandalf

I don't think flowers are gifts, they are more a token of appreciation, a sign of love etc.

Are you referring to my comment Gandalf? If you are, I said that flowers are cool, I don't consider them materialistic gifts then mean much more.

Ofcourse I read these guys. It was one of the things I told my website designer I definetly wanted, a place where my fans can give me feed back on what they like and want to hear more from me. The whole idea of being an entertainer is to satisfy the fans, and thats what I am hoping I am doing. Thank you so much for all of the nice things you all have said and I look forward to read more....

I do think Shania reads the letters of all fans , but she is too busy to answer all of them .:)

I can see though how getting a letter from Shania would be exciting though. I am 18 and a huge fan as well. But now probably more than ever before, she is limited to how many letters she can read and respond to. Eja is in her life now which makes things a little different, but I know she reads some and appreciates them. But how cool would it be! I read on your site how you didn't wanna wash your hands for a few days after shaking hands with Shania, I'd be the same way! My friend was like....quit screaming at the concert. I was so happy during the COO world tour! Email me! Let's chat!

Shania recently posted a letter to her fans on her official website explaining how she no longer has the time to read or respond to her fans letters. Rather than being cold, it was her personal attempt to explain the situation so her fans wouldn't have unrealistic expectations. I would imagine she may read and respond to the occassional letter but most letters aren't read. Her reason was clear. She didn't want to send impersonal "form" letters or letters from her staff. And if she read her mail (consider the volume and the multiple languages involved) she wouldn't have to time to write, record and publicize her music. I'm sorry if you are disappointed by this news but it makes a lot of sense. At least she is honest with us! :) :up

Well, Shania certainly does a fantastic job of entertaining us. Given her phenomenal artistry, ability and effort, it could seem ungrateful to suggest improvements. However, she is interested in ways to please her fans. And I'm always trying to help. So, with the need for constructive help firmly in mind, here goes.

My first concert (for any big star) was Shania's Chicago concert in late July 2003. I had a prime viewing spot about 6 rows from the front edge of the stage, just far enough back to see the whole stage, including band members near the back. Our small group was on the left side as we faced the stage, about half way between the central promonitory and the left end of stage.

The concert had an A band, an A+ lead singer/songwriter/performer, a nice Chicago skyline for backdrop, great lighting, very good pyrotechnics (fireworks), great camerawork of crowd reaction/interaction, and very good large screen with live video displays on either side of stage. The weather was also very good during the 2 hours of actual concert performance. Overall, there were more delights to experience than the senses could take in at one time. It was surrealistic but unique and wonderful. I kinda opted to divide my attention and enjoyment about 30% on the band, who are an entertaining act by themselves, about 30% on shania to my right & usually out near the promonitory, 15% watching the side video monitors, 10% watching the crowd either in person, or up on the video monitors, and the rest watching interesting things going on with security, fireworks, the mechanics of camera crews, sound and light towers, the Chicago skyline etc. :D

However a small aspect of the concert was less than it could be. I wonder if the outdoors location with a wall of 30 story hotels on one side of the park and Lake Michigan on the other side created an acoustical puzzle, which will not happen for indoors concerts during the tour that starts soon. Shania has a beautiful, heart lulling voice. The sound mix, equipment, acoustics or something did not let that come through as strongly or clearly as I've heard in other Shania performances, such as the Shania Twain Live video of the concert in Dallas from the previous tour.

The choreography of the band and the camerawork of that, aren't yet quite as well honed as on the ST Live video of Dallas concert. This will probably improve quickly with all the tour dates coming up fast. I'm worried about so many concerts so close together though. Any one of the band or Shania may get tired, with lowered immunity and have a cold or something.

Yeh she´s honest but it has to be nice reading all the fellings of the people that are supporting you and describing only for you their deepest fellings!
It has sense that she doesn´t read all the letters that people send her but it would be one of the best gifts that a fan can recieve!
I´m thinking in writing her if she visits my country in her tour and I would love that Shania reads all that I feel when I listen her voice. Most of the time that she´s making promos and touring she spend it travelling, why not reading while she cares about Mutt and Eja? ;)

I am just guessing but with the mountain of fan mail that our girl almost certainly receives every day, I would expect that her management ppl prolly filter it and forward anything that they think she would really like to see.....in fact I am sure it said something like that in the concert programme from the 1999 Wembley show. No matter whether she does read everything (which really we can't expect her to) she definitely appreciates the love and support! So if you wanna write to her and it makes you feel good then do it... you never know, she might just get to read it :)

I have often thought about what I would like to give her at a concert....maybe not flowers if she is stuck on the tour bus.... would end up looking like a mobile garden center... there must be something you could get that she would find really cool and useful to have on her bus....

And it came to pass, the UP! tour went ahead with INDOOR venues small enough (12-1500) so the sound could be flawless, a big round stage to give as many as possible a close up feeling of being a part of the show...

A tour small enough to fit in the little City's and Towns around the World, where Shania has never performed live before.

The last sentence though is a worry for us all, but I am sure Shania would promise to come back if a venue was missed out due to ill health.

Want to impress Shania?

Give something to your Foodbank or her feed the children campaign in her name and toss the thank-you reciepts on stage.

Yes I can see how that would work! :)

At the 2003 1st. Annual Worldwide Shania Twain Fan Convention, though there was only 36 of us, we raised a heap of cash spontaniously for the South Porcupine food Bank in Timmins.

It was a real drop of the Hat thing, and the fund rasing mostly took place on the back of a bus transporting us from our hotels to the Shania much more music video dinner/dance and outside the actual venue, the Schumacher Stadium where Shania/Eilleen supprised her Timmins High School Reunion by turning up one year with her sister.

The dates for the 2004 event are to be announced once the tour dates for the rest of the world are given for the UP! tour next year. The Shania Twain centre does not want the 2004 events to clash with any major concert in Europe and still hope they can get Shania back to Timmins for the event and to officially open the Shania Twain Centre.

ALL 36 + Sheri and Family who arrived on the last day (39) have promised online to come back in 2004 as we had so much fun! Pictures are on the Shania Twain Centre site at:

http://www.shaniatwaincentre.com

And the story of our little fundraising can be read on:

http://www.truenorthnews.com/Story.asp?StoryID={1B662AD5-B511-4E71-9219-5E02D6CE10D6}&Name=Arts

2 members of her group are in email contact with us fans. One BB & Miley through there excellent newsletter often reply to individual fans. Now you don't often get that with a world class touring Act!

The Shania Twain centre also are in contact with Shania via Q-PRIME music management in New York, but it would be impossible for anyone to reply to the vollume of fan mail Shania would generate, so this is really just for STC business and so on.

I am sure Shania reads the Forums and Boards though even though she does not post often. Shania keeps in contact with us through her music and tours and is really going out of her way on the UP! tour to please everyone who attends.

I am sure she values OUR revue's of her concerts far more than that of the major newspapers. It must be an awesome sight standing on that round stage looking down on all you guys with your banners, posters and Shania wear all going crazy to the music :D
