The NY Post says:
Shania Twain must be getting sick of boring old Switzerland. The singer and her hubby, Mutt Lange, told pals at Tommy Hilfiger's party in Mustique that they were looking for a house on the island .

The person who wrote this is obviously an idiot:) Switzerland is NOT boring, and Shania said nothing but positive things about Switzerland in interviews, so why should she suddenly be sick of it?

Agreed. Shania hates these types of parties. And Mutt likes them even less.

Well Shania did not say she was sick of Switzerland, the "reporter" did.
You can see why it is best not to go to showbiz parties... Anything you say will be taken and handed to the press along with a miss quote or two.
Mind you nice place to live, pity about the Volcano though! Fave spot for the young Royals from GB.

Well, I don't know...Shania & Mutt record in the Carribbean frequently. Parts of "UP!" were done there, and Mutt has also worked with Bryan Adams, there. Remember Shania saying in an interview that Eja swam in the ocean for the first time in the Carribbean? Plus, Shania & Mutt aren't hermits; they do go out. And a party in this secluded community would be a private affair, just the kind of party that they would attend. I know the NY Post can be wrong, but I kinda believe this one. :)

I believe it. It all adds up. Shania said Mutt and her wrote/recorded alot in The Grenadine Islands...Mystique is one of the Islands. :)

Your post just makes me more certain the New York Post story is heifer dust.
If a writer is going to fabricate stuff and make it believable there has to be parts to it that would make sense, the very points you mention. But like other posters have commented on this thread, Shania and Mutt are the last newsmakers who are party goers. And both of them always keep their cards close to their vest when it comes to private-life plans.
And the New York Post in November had a gossip item after Shania changed management teams that virtually called her a prima donna and a self-centered b**ch.
And if the item was true, I don't think it would begin with the dig: Shania Twain must be getting sick of boring old Switzerland.
This gossip writer gave away his anti-Shania bias with that sentence. He obviously heard a rumor involving her that he didn't care if it was true and used it as a stick to hit her and Mutt over the head with.

I think you're being a bit silly. Of course, Shania and Mutt go to parties, especially at holiday time. They don't live in a cave. They travel all around the world. Do you think they never see friends? Never go to a social affair? Would never say that a place is so beautiful, they'd love to have a home there? C'mon.

I really don't think our differences of opinion of this matter are any more than this.
I am operating on the assumption that the gossip item is more than likely false and coming up with reasons to back up my position.

I just can't imagine Shania and Mutt buying a house when their be on her world tour next year. Seems a bit soon to buy a house when they're not home much anymore! Not sure if I trust this article.
But if it is true; GO SHANIA; the water there is so warm, you can float a raft in the ocean. That's great for her. That's where I'd go if I had the cash!
I agree with Claudia, it actually makes perfect sense. They like to record there, it doesn't seem like they would leave their Swiss place, just add another home to own. When she is touring they may rehearse their, and it is closer to fly there for a quick break then to Europe. My opinion.

I agree with Claudia and When for all the reasons stated above. Shania obviously likes traveling to warmer climates -- she tried owning 2 places in Florida and gave them up due to lack of privacy, plus she has travelled to the Carribean several times to honeymoon, vacation, and record.
I recently saw a movie about Mustique and it seemed exactly like the kind of place Shania & Mutt would want -- it's relatively isolated, sparsely populated, inhabited by the very rich, inaccessible to travel to, and absolutely beautiful. I'd like to go there myself! :funny: :D
Has anyone read Claudia's past info. She seems to have a foot in the door. She almost always tells us something new, that turns out to be true. She must go to alot of trouble to research the info she gives us. I'm not saying this is not some made up gossip. I for one can believe this story. Also, I would like to thank Claudia for all the time and effort she puts in to keep us up to date.

Mustique appeals to those who seek privacy, virgin Caribbean territory, and a retreat from a demanding position in civilization.
Maybe Switzerland doesn't provide enough privacy. Next option for Shania and Mutt, move to an island. I can't think of any better way to get away from the masses than to move to an island. :p
But honestly, who wouldn't want to live there? :cool:

I agree with that:) Shania and Mutt can afford to have a home wherever they would like. Since she will be touring here in the states at some juncture, she will have a home base that is a short flight away if she decides to buy a home there:) Then after the tour is over, I'm sure they will be back in Switzerland:) "Boring old Switzerland" is clearly the reporter's p.o.v. and not Shania's:smirk:

the place seems nice, whether its right or wrong. :) but i think Switzerland is better! Its so beautiful where her house is!! and its so nice, in summer its just warm enough to pretend youre in some warn exotic place, but not too hot. a bit of rain too, but even the rain is warm! and i suppose its pretty much snow there in winter, and snow is great:) She has a beautiful place where she lives, but who says she cant have one more?

I believe that Shania and Mutt maybe buying another home in the island. They could be looking for a vacation home. But froush, you really need to chill. Never have I read anywhere that anybody calling her a *****. They was reporting what a person said about her changing management. But the Post never called her a *****. Maybe the person who told about the change in management, was implying that she is a *****. You are doing the samething that you are accusing the Post writer as doing. You are putting words in people's mouths. All artists have bad and good press. Just because Shania doesn't say it, doesn't mean its not true. I have not posted on this board in a while, but I have been reading all the posts from France, where I live now. And the more I read from you, the more I wonder about you.

Just to wade in on the debate, I'd have to agree that it is possible the Shania and Mutt are interested in purchasing a vacation home and even though they do have a social circle, it is a very closed social circle. I am not inclined to believe that they would be at a Tommy Hilfiger party dancing the night away. That is not the social scene that they are into.
Claudia, thanks for the post. I have read many of your posts in the past and have always felt that you had the inside track. If you have ever been there, you know how beautiful it is. Shania, Mutt, and Eja would love it.

Well, I also want to know why Switzerland should be a boring country!! This country is very exiting and interesting!! There are beautiful mountains, hills, woods and lakes. Terrific beautiful landscape!
