I contacted Matt and explained to him why I made the post I did, but I never got a response. The post was deleted. I also gave him the link, but the CWOADMIN got rid of the post so it could no longer be accessed.

Furthermore, why are those who were banned still able to post? As long as they are here, there will continue to be threads which contain posts that break the rules. The problem will be solved if these troublemakers are permanently banned. Can't their IP addresses be banned?

My posts on CWO have at times been intentionally offensive. I make no secret of that, if I were here with malicious intent I would have used a SN different than the one I use there. Like I stated in my introduction, I recognize the fact that I am a visitor in this house, and I think I have shown as much respect and restraint as is humanly possible, while at the same time responding truthfully and openly to questions put to me. I have not bashed any other poster or any artist while I have been here, nor do I intend to. I am fully aware of the functions of a fansite, as I belong to one which would be no more tolerant of the bashing of my favorite as you all are of yours. When in your house I will respect it, as I would you respect mine if you were to visit.

You say that shania is country to her fans. I am curious as to why that is.

I do find it interesting that you do know that tower is at least peripherally relevant, so I take it you have heard the story before. Why bother asking again? However, since you bring it up, it does denote the sort of mentality that finds offending others with obscenities at least amusing. However, I wouldn't consider any of these coincidences enough to convict you, so I'm only mentioning them because you ask. Can you see someone such as Britney or Christina singing that song? I certainly can't. I'm not going to engage in some huge, technical debate as to why Shania is country though. It's my opinion that she's a country artist foremost - and that is an opinion I am entitled to. Country is evolving, and just because Shania doesn't sound like Kitty Wells doesn't mean she can't be "country" by today's standards. Today's country music is nothing like country music 30 years ago - and that is because of changes brought on by time, which is expected to occur.

I knew fully well that I was known in these forums, and the esteem in which I was held before I came here, but I chose to come using my own name, when I could have snuck in here surreptitiously under an alias. I don't think a person with wreaking havoc on thier mind would do that. Since I have been here, I have not bashed a single person, even when provoked. Nor have I bashed a single artist.

I think seeing what makes y'all tick is only half right. I am also interested in finding out why I do the things I do, and if they are at all justified. It has occurred to me that the only shania fans I come across are those who post on CWO, and I do not believe that they are all like they appear over there.

Hi everyone,

Sorry to spoil the fun, but it was getting way out of hand, nasty nasty stuff and I am very glad the nasty bits have gone, but hey the thread continues!

Even across the road they are taking stock and without moderators sorting themself out.

I received a phone call from one of the Webmasters who happens to live in the UK and I am sorry to say he "read" some of the really offensive posts back to me over the phone.

The reason I am sorry is though the posts were deleted and the persons banned from there forum, the person(s) concerned can still post here.

So let's not all go Countryweekly.com bashing for they are a commercial site and the Webmaster is doing his best to control things without the help of Moderators at this time.

They have double the number of members too, which all adds to the problem.

Please, let us post in a mature fashion that would make Eilleen Twain proud of us.
