View Full Version : Lifetime Intimate Portrait and Shania
According to a Q&A with Shania in the latest Sports Illustrated, she just wrapped up flming an episode of Lifetime's Intimate Portrait series. That is a really good show, it should be interesting.

...and that's pretty happy...:funny::funny::funny:
The following is the Q&A on their website, which oddly enough is a completely different set of questions then the print edition lol
But here ya go........great questions and answers by the way. Why can't all the interviews ask different questions like this and bring out her funny side....
By the way Bob, Shania and your favorite man might be doing some singing together soon.......... :D :D :D

The five-time Grammy Award-winning singer will perform at halftime of the Super Bowl.
Shania Twain . Reed Saxon/AP
SI: You sung at the Grey Cup earlier this year. Is that good preparation for a Super Bowl?
Twain: I guess it would be similar, but I've done so many different types of performances that I just go out and do my thing. The biggest thing about the Super Bowl is that the vibe is going to be so cool. It's a first for me. When you have so many people sitting around eating chili dogs and drinking beer, it's a vibe.
SI: U2 played at halftime of last year's Super Bowl. WIll you ask Bono for any advice on how to play this gig?
Twain: No. I've been performing my whole life. I think I can manage.
SI: Is there any sporting event that you would like to attend that you haven't yet?
Twain: I'd like to see the Olympics live. I've only watched it on television.
SI: Will you stay for the whole Super Bowl?
Twain: I think I will. I love live games. I enjoy sports in person. And I like football. I played a lot of football when I was younger. I'm a good receiver, actually.
SI: Your husband, Mutt, is a rabid fan of English soccer. Does he have a favorite club team?
Twain: He follows Manchester United very closely and he likes to watch France play. I like the Italian team, personally, because they're the best looking.
SI: Is there one athlete you would like to meet?
Twain: Gee, it's hard to say because I've already met quite a few. But I'd go with Michael Jordan. I'd love to meet him.
SI: Of all the athletes you've met, who has stood out?
Twain: Wayne Gretzky is a very impressive person. He's a humble person. He's a very unassuming athlete. He's not your typical jock. He stayed Canadian and I always liked that.
SI: McDonald's made you an honorary employee for life. What does that entitle you to?
Twain: All the burgers I'm not going to eat as a vegetarian.
SI: I saw something that said 47 percent of the songs on your album Up! have an exclamation point in the title. What's up with all the exclamation points?
Twain: I'm expressive. I want to punctuate those lyrics.
SI: Generally, is it good advice for a woman to say to a man: Come On Over?
Twain: Well, I wouldn't say it's good advice to say that to a man. I think it's our right to say that quite freely and to be the initiators. So, I would say it's good advice to initiate things if you're interested in a guy.
SI: Your husband used to work out to your songs before he married you. Does he still listen to your music while he's exercising?
Twain: Yeah, he still listens to my stuff when he's exercising.
SI: Would you ever do a duet or a video with Eminem?
Twain: Yeah (Laughs). I wouldn't say never.
SI: You rode horses as a kid and now you own five horses. Have you ever made a bet at the track?
Twain: No, I'm not into that.

chloe - you little dickens! I was wondering who you were talking about - since Buddy Holly has been gone since 1959.
(BTW I do a tribute thread to him each year on the music thread - it never gets many views as members pretty much as a whole are clueless about him.)
Would you like to help me this year and come up with a nice piece on Buddy and his music .... for 2 3 03, the 44th anniversary of his passing?
I saw something right after Shania's pregnancy was announced two years ago that the Animal Planet channel had put on hold a planned upcoming segment of Celebrity Pets with Shania.
Wouldn't that be great if that idea was revivied???

Buddy Holly is the single most influential artist of all time. For people still to record his songs today some (nearly) 50 years after his death is amazing, especially when you think how short his career was.
Sadly had he lived he probably would not have been the icon that he is today. I can still remember the day he died, we were in school looking out the window at the snow falling and thing 'what a waste'. I have to confess that I had never heard of Big Bopper or Ritchie Valens at the time.
The next two biggest icons for my money are Chuck Berry and Elvis.

I would love too, Bob :) Buddy Holly is a legend, and I would love for people to know more about his music and legacy.

Wouldn't that be great if that idea was revivied??? That would be outstanding - why don't we begin a grass roots email campaign to get this segment off the back burner????:)

it's a great show, but it's just gonna be a repeat of every other show we've seen about her life, except this time set to more cozy lighting =) But still, for all of us who can't get enough, it should be really good.
Do you think they will mention any of the following:
-Her name means.......
-Her parents died........
-Nashville hated her.......
-She worked in Deerhurst.....
-She *SURPRISE* only wanted to be Stevie Wonder's backup singer......
-When she took the stage at Deerhurst you could have, "Heard a pindrop".........
-COO is the best selling album ever by a female......
-She just released Up!
-And some sort of comment about Mutt and staying indoors.....

...lots of pessimists here!
It's called reality Bob. When 40 shows in a row ask her the same questions, one is not too far out in left field if they predict that the next show will follow with the same line of questions. Using logic and past situations to gauge the future has nothing to do with pessimism.
