I was just wondering how many people have been to the Shania Centre in Timmins? I also wanted to know how I could find out how far it is from Montana to Timmins. My family is planning on going on vacation this summer and in order to persuade them to go to Timmins I have to figure out how far it is and also what there is to do in Canada. So if anyone could help me out that would be great. Thanks!:smirk:

I visited the Shania Twain Centre last May. It was a very moving experience, to see close up the costumes, the hand written lyrics and the early photo's of Longshot, Deerhurst and the Wedding.

At the end of the tour (allow at least an hour or 3 if you watch all the pre recorded video booths) you get a knockout video bio, and you feel like getting up and dancing, it is that good.

If you go, make sure you ask for Tracy, the customer service manager and introduce yourself. She will spoil you rotten and make your visit even more special.

Oh. PS make sure you go on the Gold Mine tour too, that is fun and educational too. Allow 2 hours for that one.

Tom @ home till Sunday 2nd Feb, then off to Galway, Southern Ireland for a bit.

I went there! From Toronto to Timmins it took us about 8 hours. I don't know hte mileage. As for getting there from Montana... I'd say you're looking at 2-2.5 times that. Montana is across the border from Saskatchewan-ish, so you're pretty far west. Also, you'd probably end up driving along a lot of country roads, making detours, because you'll be driving through northern Ontario to get there. But it'd definately be an experience.

Timmins was an absolutely wonderful experience for me. I knew Shania's baby was born before the public did, because I got some inside info from a lady who works for Timmins tourism. I met one of Shania's good friends Cynthia Hagen (she's in Driven). I visited Shania's old house, the Shania Gardens, the Shania Parkette. I went to the pizzeria that she loved to visit. It was awesome. I'm going to dig up the thread about it.
