A Caroline County woman is being accused of robbing the cradle with two teenage robbery suspects.

Rhonda Hottle, 23, charged with six counts of statutory rape, is accused of having sex with two 14-year-old boys--at least once while the father of one boy sat and watched, police said.

Caroline Sgt. B.P. Sullivan III said the information about Hottle came to light as he investigated the two boys in connection with an October robbery at a Bowling Green business.

One boy already has been charged in that robbery, he said.

According to Sullivan, Hottle met the teenagers in August and rented a motel room in the Carmel Church area. There, she had separate sexual encounters with the boys over a one-week period, Sullivan said.

He said the woman stopped the encounters after a week when she met an adult male she is currently living with.

Sullivan said the father who allegedly watched his son also tried to have sex with Hottle, but was rejected.

"It's absolutely disgusting and unbelievable to think that a father would stoop that low," Sullivan said.

The robbery in question occurred sometime in October outside the Something Different store, Sullivan said.

An employee was leaving the business one evening when two boys approached her.

They hit her, knocked her down, grabbed a money bag and took off with a large amount of cash, Sullivan said. Only part of the money was recovered.

An adult was arrested in that case and later convicted of being an accessory after the fact. He gave police the information leading to the 14-year-old suspects.

The father suspected of watching the sex act is also being investigated as the possible getaway driver in the robbery, Sullivan said.

"I shudder to think where else this investigation might lead," Sullivan said.

Sullivan said Hottle, who moved to Caroline in July, expressed remorse about her actions in a statement she made to police.
