Shania got TWO American Music Award nominations

The nominations for the 2003 American Music Awards were announced earlier today.

There were some shockers and no real dominators, but Shania managed to get TWO nominations.

The nominations and winners are supposed to be based on sales. Hopefully that means Shania will win in her categories.

Remember. The winners of the American Music Awards are notified in advance. So if we know ahead of time that Shania is going to be there that means she probably got at least 1 award.

The awards will air on ABC on November 16.

:confused::confused: I may be completely wrong here, but didn't we already have the AMA's for this year??? I was sure they were around January?? Maybe i'm getting them mixed up with another awards show, cause theres soooo many now :rolleyes: Can someone please put me out of my misery one way or another?? I know the AMA's were when she performed a medley of 'IGGG' & 'Up!' and she went on to the balcony, but was that late last year or early this year??

Either way though AWESOME NEWS about Shania being nominated!! :D:D:up::up:

No you're correct. At the beginning of this year the American Music Awards took place.

However after those awards took place in January, the American Music Award people announced that they would be moving the show up to November, permanently, as a result of another award show moving their show. I think it was the Oscars or Grammys who decided to move.

So now the AMAs will be shown in November each year instead of January.

The nominations are based on sales and airplay BUT the voting is done by 20,000 members based on their own subjectivity.
