Where does the train to Rotterdam leave, please?
Taxi?
Bus?
(Is there a subway in Rotterdam?)

left/right = links / rechts
push/pull = duwen/ trekken
telephone = telefoon
telephone number = telefoon nummer
cute guy = lieve jongen
train station = trein station
departures = vertrek
arrivals = aankomsten
tickets = tickets or kaartjes
Where does the train to Rotterdam leave please? = Kunt U me zeggen waar de trein naar Rotterdam vertrekt?
taxi = taxi
bus = bus
p.s: I forgot something important!, in the netherlands you say to people who are older instand of jij *you*, U *you* ( in germany they have the same with sie und du) they call it the civility way.
So if people are younger you = jij
if people are older you = U

But I guess there aren't much subways, as most of the country is below sealevel, so if you dig up subway tunnels, they'd be filled with water soon :p

If New-York(New-Amsterdam) was still from the dutch government, they would be VERY rich and famous :p ;) (our little tiny country)

Well...Almost everyone over here understands English :) and your english is :up: :) German, quite understandably! :p

:funny: Chevy är den bästa bilen någonsin. :funny: :p :p
And if anyone wonder about Swedish, just change a few letters here and there in Theas translation and thats Swedish. :p Just look at the sentence I wrote about the Chevy thing! :D
I think Dutch and Norwegean are similar in one way, written rather easily understood, but heard? Uh-oh, I dunno! :funny:
yeah, and if you talk to a norwegian from the western part of norway (sorry silje:p ), sogn og fjordane (luckily you're not from there, Silje, so you wont get mad:p ), or a swede from Skåne.... uh-oh.... IMPOSSIBLE to understand, even for us! :funny:
The languages are almost the same, but VERY differently spoken. Like, when i called the airline the other day, i spoke to someone from denmark, and she did NOT come from Århus!! :funny: I first thought she spoke Japaneese! She didnt understand me very well either, im so glad for the invention of the word HÆ? ! :D

Yep, Siljes Norwegian is a little (much:p ) harder to read than yours. If you take a Swede from Skåne so does he at least write and spell the same as other Swedes, that´s a little strange that you have different words and spellings in different parts of the same country! :huh:

Hi Essie. English in tech talk is even harder to learn. Example:
We can define the familes Triconodontidae, Amphilestidae, and Dinnetheriidae on the basis of apomorphies, but not so for, Morganucodontidae. The distinct morphology of the haramiyid teeth suggest that thay are phylogenetically distinct from all other mammals.
And all I just said was the difference of mammal teeth.;)
English is weird alright..!!!!:)

Ehm...not sure if I understand John...:uhh: :p Språkform...it`s...ok..I can give you an example. In Norway you can talk/write (perhaps mainly write...cause people tend to talk the way the like...) in two different ways -> Nynorsk or bokmål. Bokmål has always been the way people in the "big" cities talk. On the countryside...where I live we talk or write nynorsk. Here`s an example:
"How" :
Bokmål -> hvordan
Nynorsk -> korleis
"I" :
B -> jeg
N -> eg
But it`s the same language...if you understand anything of what I`m writing...Samar are people living in the north...kind of like indians or native Americans, if you know what I mean...They have their own language -> samisk. Hi Sun..!!:) Yes I did recive your email Thank You..!!!
Is this easy to understand......Umm?...I'm working on it;) I was asking about the diffrence in the North and South as that is
something that is a big diffrence in diffrent parts of the US.
people who live in the West have many diffrent words for things,
but its spelled the same. The same is true of the diffrences
in the North and South. With all the diffrent slang wording it is
sometimes difficult to understand what the people are saying. So I am getting a good idea of the diffrences in speach there, and other Nations seem to as well. An example: In Spain the dialect is diffrent than Mexico, but both are the Spanish language. So I am trying to fill in the diffrences in all the Languages I am teaching myself. I hope this makes some sense to you..???:) Thanks again...!!!! John
