The only producer that I know, who worked on the album (for about 3 songs), is Bill Botrell (eg. Sheryl Crow's producer).
There maybe more, but that's still unknown.....:)

First: Well, it's not really part of a/the Tour, there are just random dates.... I think they are comparable with Shania's Pre-Tour concerts.... (only a bit more, to let people now they're back! :D) :)

What's not official? The date & name?

Well the name is pretty official 'coz it's on the website of their Spanish record company. Plus some people have mailed the Spanish and German(?) record companies and they confirmed this....
But now the date: It's 99% official and correct, BUT someone went to a few music stores (big and small ones) in France, and they told her, the album was being released on February 29th there!! :confused: But that's very inprobable and illogical 'coz that's on a Sunday.... :rolleyes: :)
But all in all it's pretty offical! ;) :D
All we have to do now is wait for a post of Jim to make it 500% official! :supwink: :D

Some bad news.... :sad:

Warner Spain has removed the details from their site and now somethings have changed....
The album's release has been pushed back to April/May.... (it'll likely be April) And now it's not 100% sure the album will be called 'Borrowed Heaven'.
There are a few sited with 'singles releases' that has 'Borrowed Heaven' listed as a single release.... so the 1st single could be named 'Borrowed Heaven' and not the album.... :uhh:
So there is a LOT confusion at the moment.... :uhh: :mad: :(

So the only thing we can do is wait....:(

BUT there's one more thing we can look forward to: They will perform at the Irish Meteor Awards (IRMA) on March 1st, and it's very likely they'll perform their new single there.... so we only have to wait one more month to hear it! :D

One producer that was confirmed to be working on the album was Bill Botrell (worked with Sheryl Crow), but wait, there's more! :D

It's been said that they also worked with.....OLLE ROMO!!!! :great:

Perhaps his name doesn't say much but he has been Mutt's right hand for years! :D

From the 29th March "Summer Sunshine", from the band's forthcoming new album, will start to hit your radios, followed closely behind by the new video, all leading up to the singles release in mid April.

With all the new activity around the single and album release (not to mention the upcoming tour) the band has kicked into high gear.

In the last two weeks the band has been shooting the covers of the approaching single and album with French photographer Patrick Ibanez. They also shot the video you will be seeing soon at Shepperton studios in London with renowned video director Kevin Godley.

As if that wasn’t enough they have also been rehearsing and recording an acoustic set of some songs from the new album with their long time musicians Keith Duffy and Anthony Drennan, which sounded fantastic.

Lastly, they have been doing a ton of press including an EPK (that’s an electronic press kit to you and me) that we are hoping to put on the website. They then had just a day or two off before Andrea and Sharon flew to Munich for a day with the Press and then onto Hamburg for more of the same while Caroline and Jim did 15 phone calls each to various newspapers and radio stations around the world from Canada to Korea.

The set is the follow-up to 2000's "In Blue," which peaked at No. 21 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 1.1 million units in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The Irish band came off the road in 2001 after six years of almost continual touring and recording. "We needed to get our lives back," lead singer Andrea Corr admits. After a break, the family quartet spent 18 months writing and recording "Borrowed Heaven" in Dublin and Los Angeles.

"It's our strongest songwriting to date," Sharon Corr says. "We had more time, and all four of us contributed." The album features the song "Time Enough for Tears," co-written by U2 frontman Bono and Gavin Friday. Andrea Corr previously sung the track in the 2003 film "In America." It was produced by Olle Romo, who has previously worked with Pulp, Shania Twain and Backstreet Boys

The Corrs have European tour dates on tap beginning June 19 in Bonn, Germany, through July 21 in Mallorca, Spain. The group's first-ever North American tour is in the planning stages for August and September.

Vier Jahre nach ihrem letzten Studioalbum kehren THE CORRS mit „Borrowed Heaven“ zurück. Eine atemberaubend vielseitige Sammlung von Liedern, die auf beeindruckende Weise die Weiterentwicklung einer der erfolgreichsten Gruppen der vergangenen Dekade dokumentiert.

Als Andrea, Sharon, Caroline und Jim Corr 2001 von ihrer Tournee heim kamen, hatten sie beinahe sechs Jahre ununterbrochener Auftritte und Studioaufnahmen hinter sich. Es war Zeit, sich eine Pause zu gönnen, endlich einmal wieder die einfachen Dinge des Lebens zu genießen: Privatsphäre, Beziehungen sowie – in Carolines Fall – Mutterschaft. „Wir mussten unser Leben zurück haben und realisieren, dass es Wichtigeres gibt, als sich darüber Gedanken zu machen, was über uns in der Zeitung geschrieben wird“, stellt Andrea klar.
Die Batterien aufzuladen hat sich ausgezahlt, wie „Borrowed Heaven“ zeigt. Denn auch für das Writing, die Proben plus die Aufnahmen in Los Angeles und Dublin nahmen sie sich insgesamt 18 Monate Zeit. Als Produzent wurde Olle Romo (Pulp, Bryan Adams, Celine Dion) engagiert, ein enger Mitarbeiter von Studio-Guru Mutt Lange, der große Teile von „In Blue“ betreut hatte. THE CORRS beschreiten neue Wege – sowohl musikalisch als auch textlich – ohne dabei den melodiös-folkloristischen Charme zu vernachlässigen, der der Grundstein zu ihrem bisherigen Erfolg war. Des Weiteren waren erstmals alle vier Geschwister an den Kompositionen eines Albums beteiligt.

Das Eröffnungsstück „Summer Sunshine“, welches gleichzeitig die erste Auskopplung ist, wurde von Andrea geschrieben. „Es ist auffällig, dass man immer weiß, wenn man eine Single hat“, freut sich Sharon. Die ansteckende Melodie macht es tatsächlich einfach, den Titel als typischen THE CORRS-Sommerhit zu identifizieren. Doch Andrea weist noch auf die anderen Aspekte hin: „Es klingt sommerlich und fröhlich, ist aber auf eine gewisse Art auch sehr melancholisch. Es geht um eine heimliche Liebe, über die man oft nie ganz hinweg kommt. Ein verbotenes Gefühl, das nur in deinen Gedanken Realität werden kann…“

„Angel“ stammt von Andrea und Caroline und behandelt ihr Verhältnis zur verstorbenen Mutter, der (gemeinsam mit dem Vater) außerdem das ganze Album gewidmet ist. „Es soll eine Würdigung all dessen darstellen, was sie uns gegeben, wozu sie uns inspiriert hat“, berichtet die Sängerin. Das atmosphärische „Hideway“ wurde laut Sharon für eine Freundin verfasst, die gerade eine schwere Zeit durch machte, während sie „Long Night“ als eine Art romantischen Trennungssong beschreibt. Das bewegende „Goodbye“ hingegen ist Sharons Liebeserklärung und Abschiedsgruß an die Mutter.

„Time Enough For Tears“ stammt aus der Feder von U2-Frontmann Bono, Ex-Virgin-Prunes-Chef Gavin Friday sowie dessen Dauerpartner, Score-Experte Maurice Seezer („Im Namen des Vaters“, „Der Boxer“) und war bereits auf dem Soundtrack zu Jim Sheridans mehrfach Oscar-nominierten Film „In America“ zu hören. „Die Drei arbeiteten in Dublin, und ich war zu Besuch, als sie begannen, den Song zu schreiben“, erinnert sich Andrea, „dann musste ich allerdings nach L.A.; daraufhin sangen sie mir ihre Fortschritte immer am Telefon vor…“ Das Resultat dieser außergewöhnlichen Kollaboration ist nicht nur ein wunderbares Stück Musik, sondern eine der besten Vokal-Leistungen von Miss Corr überhaupt. Das Besondere daran: Sie gelang in nur einem einzigen Take.

„Humdrum“ ist ein von Jim arrangiertes Stück, basierend auf Melodie und Texten von Andrea. „Eigentlich sollte es ein hübscher, ruhiger Song werden“, lacht sie, „doch mit der Zeit wurde es ein immer bissigerer Kommentar über Träume die, wenn sie sich erst einmal erfüllen, schnell langweilig werden können…“

Das darauf folgende „Even If“ ist dann wieder deutlich positiver ausgefallen, behandelt es doch den Glückszustand, den wahre Liebe hervorruft. Wohl am stärksten am Herzen liegt Andrea der Titelsong: „Wir alle hoffen auf ein anderes, besseres Leben. Dabei haben wir doch sämtliche Möglichkeiten in der Hand, im Hier und Jetzt unser Glück zu finden.“ Die Aufnahme enthält einen wunderbaren Beitrag der südafrikanischen Gesangstruppe Ladysmith Black Mambazo, mit der THE CORRS auf persönlichen Wunsch von Nelson Mandela beim letztjährigen AIDS-Benefizkonzert in Kapstadt aufgetreten waren.

„Confidence for Quiet“ war der erste Song, den Andrea zur Platte beisteuerte. „Es ist immer etwas schwer, mit der Arbeit für ein neues Album zu beginnen. Man sucht nach Entschuldigungen, aus Angst, einem könne nichts einfallen“, lächelt die hübsche junge Dame. Ironischerweise war dieses Lied dann der Startschuss für eine besonders kreative Phase, die sie an sieben der insgesamt zwölf Stücke von „Borrowed Heaven“ als Komponistin bzw. Co-Komponistin präsentieren sollte.

Nicht nur eines der schönsten, sondern auch interessantesten Stücke des Longplayers ist „Baby Be Brave“. Speziell deshalb, weil die von Andrea Corr verfassten Worte durch zwei im Prinzip von einander völlig isolierten Dingen inspiriert wurden: einen Zeitungsartikel über die Jerusalemer Klagemauer sowie das Zusammentreffen mit dem amerikanischen Rockmusiker Ryan Adams. „Es geht um den Glauben an die eigenen Fähigkeiten. Ich bin überzeugt davon, dass sich jeder von uns seinen Ängsten stellen sollte. Der Mensch braucht eine Menge Mut, sein wahres Potenzial auszuschöpfen.“

Den Abschluss des Albums bildet „Silver Strand“, eine von Caroline und Sharon schon zu Zeiten der Aufnahmen ihres Debüts geschriebene Nummer. „Wir wollten der CD noch ein traditionelles Element hinzufügen“, erklärt die Violinistin. „Es ist uns wichtig, immer etwas irischen Folk dabei zu haben. Sonst würde ein wichtiger Teil von uns fehlen…“

Trotz ihres globalen Erfolges sind THE CORRS fest in der Heimat verwurzelt. Geboren und aufgewachsen in Dundalk, begannen sie bereits im frühen Kindesalter zu musizieren. 1990 – als Andrea und Caroline noch die Schulbank drückten – spielten sie bereits in Alan Parkers Film „The Commitments“ mit. Der große Durchbruch kam dann 1995 während eines US-Trips. Unbekümmert tauchten sie bei dem bekannten Produzenten David Foster (Michael Jackson etc.) vor dem Studio auf. Four years after their last studio album, The Corrs are back with Borrowed Heaven. A breathtakingly diverse and lyrically sophisticated collection of songs, it's an album that reflects both their growth as musicians and songwriters and a new-found maturity after the extraordinary roller-coaster ride that has made them one of the most successful acts in the world over the last decade.

When Andrea, Sharon, Caroline and Jim came off the road at the end of 2001, they had spent six years touring and recording almost without a break. Finally, the world’s hardest-working band were able to devote some time to the simple pleasures the rest of us take for granted - home life, relationships, spouses and, in Caroline’s case, motherhood. “We needed to get our lives back and realise there are more important things than what’s going to be in the tabloids tomorrow,” as Andrea puts it.

The opportunity to take stock and recharge their batteries has paid dividends.. Some 18 months in the writing and recording, Borrowed Heaven was recorded in Dublin and Los Angeles, and produced by Olle Romo, a close accomplice of Mutt Lange, who part-produced In Blue, The Corrs' last studio album.

Borrowed Heaven finds the Corrs exploring new avenues both musically and lyrically but retains the feel for melody and the accessible charm that lay at the heart of their original success. “We just went for it and didn’t give up until every detail was right,” Andrea says, and that attention to detail includes the title, Borrowed Heaven, a key to the album's theme: “It's the time that we have. The place where we are. Right here and right now – that's heaven. All that is light and dark, all that is beautiful and ugly, all pleasure and all pain are transient. We have to live for today.”

The Corrs may have sold 30 million records around the globe, but Borrowed Heaven is the sound of a band pushing and striving to top past achievements. This time around, all four contributed to the songwriting. It's an approach that has been remarkably successful: “Everybody throws in their ideas and I think that’s what makes the album sound so different,” says Sharon.

The opener 'Summer Sunshine' – the first single from Borrowed Heaven – was written by Andrea. ”It’s funny how you always know when you have a single,” Sharon says. “When we heard that song we all knew instantly.” It's an utterly infectious summer single and instantly recognisable as a Corrs' hit, but there is another side to the track, as Andrea makes clear: “it sounds happy and summery, but is also quite a sad song. It's the story of a secret love that you can never quite get over. A forbidden love that lives on in your
head.”

'Angel' was written by Andrea and Caroline about their late mother Jean, to whom – along with their father Gerry – the album is dedicated. “It’s an appreciation of everything she gave us and inspired us to be,” Andrea says. The atmospheric 'Hideaway' was written for a friend of Sharon’s who was having a hard time, while she describes 'Long Night' as “a break-up song about the heartache of still being in love but being alone.” The moving 'Goodbye' is Sharon’s tribute to her mother, “never thinking one day she’d be gone.”

'Time Enough For Tears', the one song not written by the band, was composed by Bono, ex-Virgin Prune Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer for the Jim Sheridan film In America. “They were in Dublin and I was with them when they started writing the song," Andrea recalls. "Then I had to go to LA, so they were calling me and singing it down the phone and texting me the lyrics,” she recalls. The result is not only a stunning song but one of the best vocals Andrea has ever recorded. Astonishingly, it was done in one take.

'Humdrum' is an arrangement by Jim with melody and lyrics by Andrea. “It was meant to be a nice song originally,” she laughs. “Then it got progressively nastier about having all these dreams and how they can end up becoming humdrum.”

'Even If' is considerably more cheerful, about “the elation of being in love”, while the album’s title track is particularly close to Andrea's heart. “Everybody’s waiting for the next life but my belief is we all have the
possibility of heaven within us,” she says. The track also features South Africa’s Ladysmith Black Mambazo, with whom the Corrs sang at Nelson Mandela’s 46664 aids charity concert in Cape Town last year at his request. The band are a particular favourite of President Mandela's, performing for him no less than four times in the last year.

'Confidence For Quiet' was the first song Andrea came up with for the record. “You always have an anxiety about starting a new album and it’s me looking for excuses and saying ‘I’m going to give this up. I’ve done my time’,” she says. Ironically, it set her off on a rich vein that saw her writing or co-writing seven of the album’s dozen songs.

'Baby Be Brave' is one of the record’s most intriguing compositions, with a lyric by Andrea loosely inspired by two seemingly unconnected themes: a newspaper article about Jerusalem’s Wailing Wall and rockstar Ryan Adams. From these unlikely subjects comes a beautiful song about having faith in one's own abilities: “I believe that what you have to do in life is to do the very thing that most terrifies us. It's about being brave enough to attempt to live up to your potential.”

The album concludes with 'Silver Strand', written by Caroline and Sharon years ago while recording the first album in Malibu. “We wanted a traditional element and we remembered the tune. It’s important for us to have a real Irish flavour on the album. Part of us would be missing without it,” Sharon says.

For despite all their international success, The Corrs' roots remain firmly planted in Ireland. Born and raised as a close-knit family in Dundalk, they all played instruments from an early age. In 1990 they appeared in Alan Parker’s film The Commitments when Caroline and Andrea were still in school. Before long they were gigging regularly around Dublin. Their break came in 1995 when on their first trip to America, they doorstepped top producer David Foster at a Michael Jackson session and asked for an audition. Foster was sufficiently impressed to agree to produce their first album, Forgiven Not Forgotten. Released in 1996 , it went multi-platinum in Canada, Ireland, Australia, Spain, New Zealand, Denmark and the UK and gold almost everywhere else around the world.

Their second album, Talk On Corners, appeared in 1997, by which time The Corrs were in huge demand, appearing at a Christmas concert in the Vatican, selling out London’s Albert Hall on St Patrick’s Day, singing with Pavarotti, opening for the Rolling Stones and performing at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. Talk On Corners became the biggest selling British album of 1998 and at one point, their first two albums achieved the Beatles-like feat of occupying the top two places in the UK chart. Talk On Corners eventually went platinum or multi-platinum in 22 different territories and gold in countless others.

1999 saw an MTV Unplugged set before their third studio album, In Blue was released in 2000. It swiftly repeated the multi-platinum success of its predecessors. The following year came a timely Best Of The Corrs that included such hits as 'So Young', 'Runaway', 'Dreams', 'What Can I Do', 'Breathless' and 'Give Me A Reason'.

A member of the spanish forums has told me but I don´t have yet a link where I can show you the info. I don´t know the place and the hour either and it´s just in some days!! I will look foward this guy and I´ll tell you the updates. The Corrs will be here on May 4 too promoting the cd so it´s very likely that they will be in Madrid on 3:D

Like I reported here (http://www.shaniaforums.com/showthread.php?t=30339), Caroline is pregnant again.... and that could give some problems to the tour.... She won't be able to play the drums (certainly not late July/August), and according to the official site, "Caroline will continue to play percussion with the band on their forthcoming tour".

So that probably indicates she will be part of it but not play the drums.... (so it's likely they'll have a replacement drummer)
And that also means that it's likely Caroline will be up front the whole time instead of the back!! :D:great::up: That I can live with....!!

But this is probably also the reason Caroline's in the back at those cover pics....:)

Sorry for the lack of updates.... been busy and away for a few days....

First: The Corrs will appear on Parkinson on BBC in about 10 mins!

The band has been putting in the miles over the last few days. Earlier in the week they visited Spain where they recorded a number of TV shows (which we are hoping to bring you details of soon) as well as interviews for radio and press.

In France they did press interviews for Le Parisien, Paris Match, Tele Vision, Star Club, Fan de, Question de Femme, Star AC, Ouest France, Tele Star, and Femme Actuelle, so keep your eyes on the newsstands.

Lastly, on Friday night they will be appearing with other bands at “Le Zenith” in Paris for NRJ Music Tour which will be broadcast live on NRJ. The show starts at 8.30pm CET, for more details go to www.nrj.fr.

Here are the details of some of the Spanish TV shows as promised.

On Tuesday 11th May you can see the band on "Carta De Ajuste" at 10 PM (CET) on Antenna 3.

On Saturday 15th May the band will be performing sometime between 11 AM and 2 PM (CET) on TVE1’s “Musica Uno”.

Also while the band was in Spain they recorded a large set for “40TV” and “40 Principale” which we will bring news of before it airs.

Some fans got to go to that concert Silvi was talking about.... (and they also met them!) Besides Summer Sunshine, they performed 2 more new songs: Angel & Long Night! I've got a bad quality version of Angel, but the song is GOOOOD!! :great:

And because of Caro's pregnancy she wasn't behind the drums, and I doubt she will be in the tour.... She had a full accoustic drum kit with her but it sounded great! :D

Yep.... they're going with small venues (also in Europe).... and especially on the US, because they have never toured the US yet so it's quite logical and better to do small venues first....:)

And if they all sell good, there's definately a big chance they'll come back in a few months! ;) :D

Tomorrow are the Laureus Sports World Awards in Portugal and The Corrs will perform at the Ceremony (they will perform SS & Breathless)! :D
(And it will be broadcasted all over the world, so check your local listings.... It's on TV1 in Portugal....:))

And they will be on CD:UK on May 15th....

Today they were also on the Dutch Top of the Pops! :great:

Yep! They are playing small venues this time (also in Europe). It's also the first tour they're doing in the US, so it's quite logical they only play the smaller venues....:)

If the gigs sell well, there's a big chance they're coming back in a few months....;) :D
But I'd say grab your chance... it's not often they give gigs in the US and with a small venue like this, you have a better view (if you are further away) than with the bigger ones....:D Besides.... it's likely they will play acoustic.... another reason to go! :great:

Ahead of tomorrow's TV appearance on GMTV, the band has popped over to Paris to record a performance for M6's 'Hit Machine' which will be broadcast on Saturday May 29th. For more details about the show click here.

For Spanish fans there are two other TV shows to look forward to. On Monday May 24th there will be a performance on 'Carta De Ajuste' on TVE. But the big one to look forward to will be on 40TV (who this week is running a Corrs week). On June 11th they will be broadcasting a specially recorded acoustic show. Yeah, it's strange! 'Coz I thought they would add the next 2 songs (Hideaway & Long Night) yesterday (Saturday) and then next 2 (Goodbye & Time Enough For Tears) after those 2 on Monday.... :confused: And there's a little mistake because sometimes next to 'Goodbye', it says 'Monday'....lol

But I guess we'll have to wait till Monday for the next 2....:(

Lol, yeah they were last.... they were on at around 10.45 PM....:great:
And it was really great! There were also little mistake, but the biggest was at their first song.... Andrea was singing:

Like the name says, it's primarily for the press/for promotion.
A lot artists do EPK's.... You perform a few new songs from the album, and it can be used for promotion....:)
They did it with Forgiven Not Forgotton, but I don't know if they also did it for TOC & IB (I don't think so).... :)

I really don't know if I already posted this (yeah yeah I know....:p), looked back and didn't see it, but 2 new musicians will join the band: Jason Duffy (brother of Keith Duffy, their bassist): he will be joining Caroline on percussion (& drums) and
Kieran Kiely : he will play the keyboards and the accordeon.

And yesterday evening they performed at the Irish show 'The Late Late Show' and for the 1st time, all 8 of them! And it was totally live! :great:
First they performed Summer Sunshine, then chatted for about 20 mins and then they performed....they performed....Long Night!! :D:great: :love:
