I wanted to post something about the Chicks.
I was watching CMT just a little while ago...and the Chicks have a new video coming out called"Without You".
Its a very pretty song...and its one of my favorites.Im a huge chicks fan but the video is uncalled for.They are all nude.And people raise hell when shania shows her stomach a little.It makes me mad.Take Faith for example she was laying in bed with nothing but a thin little sheet,Ty Herdons "No Mercy" video....and another girl she is new i think her name is Tamera Walker...All their videos are about them taking off the clothes and all this mess.And you never hear anything about it everybody is fine with it.But when Shania shows her stomach they raise hell...its not fair to shania i think.I didnt agree with the Goodbye Earl video either.They got alot of crap about that video...A husband who abuses his wife is a serious subject and not something to be taken and made fun of.And their video does just that atleast thats what it portrays to me...They make it look like its ok to kill somebody when its not.Take Martinas song"Independance Day" even though it talks about abuse and the video shows her burning the house down and killing her and her husband....it still shows how awful it is,shes not making fun of it and making it look like its ok.The chicks are beautiful and talented girls but theres really no sense in that kinda video "Goodbye Earl" and Without You.It just makes me mad.Oh well i just wanted to say something about that...Thats not something i want my kids seeing.

I haven't seen the video. I don't have CMT yet...I rely on friend to tape videos for me.
But I second what you're saying..Anyone who will criticize Shania for her "style" dressing etc... better be ready to criticize many other artists in country and in music in general.

There's a topic; "Wife beating".

When you put it like that, "...he abuses his wife...they make it look like its ok to kill somebody when its not..", killing does sound like an overkill.

But when I think about wives that are abused, beaten, raped for years and having read that its not easy to walk away and for some its impossible (some mental trap or something), I say kill the f___ker!

There is no way that anybody should have to live like that! I imagine that living like that is worst then being dead. Years of suffering and degradation, with no escape.

I'm getting pissed off, as I'm am typing. I seem to be hitting the keyboard with more intensity than usual at this time.

I couldnt agree with u more. U can make videos without having to be nude. Its ridiculous how people raised hell about shania u can only see her belly button. There was another one Shana Petrone I think is her name she shows her butt and nothing was ever mentioned about that. The goodbye earl video was made to be funny but there is absolutely nothing funny about being abused and killin somebody. Being abused is one thing but gettin revenge by killin the person makes u just as bad if not worse as the person abusing u.

Wine. yeah its horrible that the wives and women are being abused but that doesnt give u no right what so ever to kill the person. yeah he deserves it. when u kill that person u are stoopin as low as them if not lower and gettin yurself a one way ticket down south. I most certainly do not agree with u on that.

Killing somebody is wrong just plain as that.Urgh it makes me mad when you turn on the news and see another shooting...where do kids get these ideas..
From videos like"Goodbye earl"And video games,and all that mess.Alot of people look up to the chicks so when they see something like goodbye earl...they make it look like its OK to kill somebody which its NOT...no matter what you say or think ITS WRONG.Abusing is wrong and people can get out if they wanted too.
