if i can be serious for a minute............
hmmmmmmmm dont know if i can but anyway,
lemme tell you im a big shania fan, and a big country fan, and i looked up on the metallica page, and found that the man, the 1 and only james hetfield is also a counry fan, correct me if i read it all wrong somebody, but im sure it said that, and i heard a couple of slow metallica tunes that sound a bit countryfied, soooo i was wondering, have we any other metal fans here,
im talking about the real stuff, Ozzy osbourne, megadeth, metallica, iron maiden, and maybe even limp bizkit, gotta say the chocolate starfish album from the bizkit really rocks . anyway that was about it. oh yea, whats this junior member mean next to my name there? i mean im 20 , im gettin an old man here lol

I`m a big Metallica fan myself, and yes I do think James Hetfield is a country fan. Cliff Burton from what I`ve heard was also a fan of classical music which is where a lot of the sound on the Master Of Puppets album came from.

I think the two songs that Metallica have done which could be considered vaguely country (in sound) are "Mama Said" and "Tuesdays Gone", both good songs in my opinion.

Metallica may be primary a heavy metal band but they bring other musical styles into their music, although often in subtle ways so as not to offend their more hardcore heavy metal fans.

... I never thought I`d be discussing Metallica on this message board... http://www.shaniaforums.com/smile.gif

Sure, I like all genres of music. You name it I'll probably like it! I like music for it's artistic elements. Not just because I happen to like the song or because the artist is "Hot" at the moment.

You are a junior member because you have only posted 4 times (Well at least as I'm typing this). You will eventually become a member as soon as you hit a certain number of posts. Moderators correct me if I'm wrong.
I thought the same thing when I first came here.

I like Metallica. I really like The Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters, Enter Sandman, One, The Unforgiven 2 and a few others.

Normally I steer clear of Metal though.

Metallica kick *** !!! Although I have to admit that I mostly like their "softer" songs, like "Nothing else matters", "Turn the page" (I think my fave) and some others. But "Enter sandman" is great and some others as well. Oh yeah, "Whiskey in the jar", I love it!!!

Ozzy rocks too!!! And... is Alice heavy metal? Cos I like him too.

First I want to say you have great taste when it comes to Metallica songs Manu http://www.shaniaforums.com/smile.gif

If by Alice, you mean Alice Cooper then yes he is heavy metal and another of my favourites. I bought a live album of his recently and it sounds great. Its titled "A Fistful of Alice" and was recorded at a concert in Mexico. "Poison" has always been one of my favourite songs of his but all the songs on his live album are great.

Yes, sorry, I meant Alice Cooper! http://www.shaniaforums.com/smile.gif I don't really know a lot of his songs, but I think "Poison" is one of the greatest songs ever! And I also like "Bed of nails"... you could say I just love the "Trash" album. Alice rocks!!!

I really like Metallica to and I grew up on Alice Cooper! "You Can Go To Hell" was my theme song! I'd play it whenever I was down! http://www.shaniaforums.com/smile.gif

For those of you who, like me, are big Metallica fans. You`ll probably want to read this release from the band. Jason Newsted (their bass player) has left the band.
http://www.metallica.com/news/2000/jason_release.html

On a slightly more positive note, it does state that Metallica will be putting out a new album in late 2001/early 2002..

NO NO NO, not Jason, WHY??? Are you stupid Jason? This might not be the right reason for me not to want him to leave the band, but that man looks damn good!!! http://www.shaniaforums.com/wink.gif

Hm... maybe he wants to play in my band. If I had one, that is.

By the way, I saw a MTV-Special on Ozzy Osbourne yesterday, it was brilliant! I've seen him in concert with Black Sabbath once before and he is sooo cool!
They showed his house and his kids ("everyone thinks we're crazy and when they come here they see that we're quite normal") and his wife. I wouldn't say no to this house... http://www.shaniaforums.com/wink.gif

Well seeing as I`m only attracted to women I cant really comment on what you said there http://www.shaniaforums.com/smile.gif

However I do think it is sad that he is leaving the band. He stated "personal reasons" for leaving the band which to me means that he wants to spend more time with his family. Family come above all else so I can understand his decision even if it is sad to see him go.

yea ozzy is the man, hes quite normal now compared to how he used to be in the sabbeth days a while back, although i think hes back with sabbeth now. Its a surprise hes still alive after the life he has lived lol
In an interview i saw with him he said aobut a time when his wife confiscated all his clothing, to stop him going out to the pub again, anyway he ended up wearing his wifes clothes and went to the pub in them instead,
only ozzy would do this, lol. I might go to ozzfest this year, rob halfords band pulled out and motorhead are now lined up to be playing there aswell, itll be a good 1
