I don't know how much it costs, I have to check the site www.shaniatwaincentre.com, also I'm sure my parents would pay cuz it's around my birthday/nameday time and even if they don't speak English well they know who Shania is and how much I love her :)

All the details on cost for the convention itself are on the STC website. You can follow the link in my signature.
Cost of the convention includes most lunches and dinners as well as shuttle transportation and entry into all of the events.

yep, but events like these IMO aren't expensive - they're PRICELESS...
...anyone who's ever been to a fan convention would agree on this...
...but you have to experience it to believe it...

100 Canadian Dollars is 41.26 Pounds Sterling, so that convention fee is really small change for the food and transport and the unique experience that you will get going to the event.
If you want to see what helped make Shania who she is today, and the places, events and the school that formed a young Schoolgirl called Eilleen back in the 1970's then this is the way to do it, stories and photo's from last years amazing convention can be viewed still at:
http://www.tower-electronics.com
If you book online the return Air fair from the UK to Toronto can be as little as £290 and you can hire a car, fly or bus to Timmins a distance of about 450 miles North from Toronto.
Depending on the standard of Accomodation you require when you get there you can pay anything between £10 to £37 pounds per night in B & B or Hotels in Timmins. Everything there is about a third of the price of most UK major cities.

John, I agree with you, having been to the fan con last year. But the fact remains that for a lot of people, especially young people, the total cost of the experience, which of course includes accommodation and travel, is beyond their means. This is why I have offered to organize carpools as one small way to help out.
Of course, young people have a lifetime ahead of them to go to fan cons in the future.

If it weren't for my parents and no friends wanting to come with me I'd go, the money is not an issue, It's not expensive, its more than worth it.

Well if you are over 18 then go on your own, as Beth and myself and Bob and Richard did - Phone the Shania Twain Centre and see if they can find you suitable sheltered accomodation should you be a single lady and go for it.
You only live this life the once, what you do today is the stuff you thrive on, memories as you grow old. During the whole event from Dawn till way after dusk you will be with friends, fellow Shania fans who will enjoy your company as much as you enjoy them. Trust me on that one.
I make no effort to conceal my age and I am in my mid 50's and Fan Con 2003 was the greatest thing I have done, or been to or witnessed or ANYTHING as far as being a Shania fan. There is no other experience that comes close to meeting Shania herself than being in her home town and just enjoying the locals and seeing for yourself the childhood that made Eilleen into a mature woman.
I was so moved the first time I visited the Shania Twain Centre, it is just simply a must for anyone who can somehow get there, and I know that you will be spoiled, just as we were during this unique event. Grab it now before it gets too big and the close contact with the locals spoiled.

I really appreciate your thoughts and points I wish it were that easy to just pick up and leave. I am going to be making my final decision before June 17th..there are a lot of things I must factor in before this decision is made. There is a 50-50 chance I will go..so wish me luck. I have to do a lot of organization to make this dream happen for me, it's not as easy as saying MAMA I'm headed to Timmins....even if I am 21 I have strict parents, anyways I am working something out right now and I will let you know as this unfolds.....thanks again for awaring me of what I will be missing :)

I understand what you mean ShaniaKoukla, but you should go. It sounds like a very fun experience and what a better time to go then when a bunch of other Shania fans are going? Lucky for you Timmins isn't all that far away; other members are traveling great distances to this happening. Hope that you end Up! going in the end, because i'm sure you would enjoy it very much...

How much is this in US dollars?
Go to http://www.altavista.com and in the search box type currency conversion and you will get the URL of dozens of sites that will convert currency online at the latest exchange rates.
I hope that helps. I will be in Timmins in May and may even make the Fan Convention if I can get a bearth in June/July to pay for it.
