Alright, to make video avatars, you take the video and just open it up in Jasc. I think only mpg videos can be used though. Anyway, when you open it, a little screen will pop up asking "Range of frames to import" Dont click "All frames" cuz since videos are so big, it just wont work. So you wanna click "Frames" and I usually open up a video 400 frames at a time, sometimes 500 depending on the size of the video. Be patient and soon the frames will open up. You can open it 50 frames at a time if you want. Then, after many times of opening the video to find the section you want to make an avatar into, just delete the frames you dont want. If you open up like 400 frames at a time, it does take a while to delete. Once you have the section you want made into an avatar, crop the video (there is a little crop tool). Then to make the video 64x64, click on "Animation" at the top, then "Resize animation". You will notice that if you try and make it 64x64 exactly, either the width or the height will change. Just make the width 64, and as long as the height is not above 64, you are good to go and just leave it alone (or the other way around...make the height 64). This will only happen if you dont crop the video to an exact square. To make it an exact square (just keep looking at the resize animation thing and once the numbers on both sides are the same, then you know it is an exact square). Now, this is the fun part  90% of the time, the section that you want made into an avatar, has too many frames, so it will be too big. You are going to have to delete some frames. Just delete the ones that look very similar. To see if your animation is small enough to use, just go to "save as" and call it whatever. Then click on "Save" then a little thing will come up "Quality Vs. Size" You want it to be better quality obviously, so just click "next", then "next" again, then "next" once more. Look for "Size of file" and look under "Optimized File" and as long as it says "25K bytes" or less, then you can use the avatar, Just keep deleting frames and if you have to, lower the quality of the video. Just keep going "save as" and doing those following steps till its under 25k.

Now, to load graphics, its just like loading pictures, you click on browse and find the animation and then post it. But if you wanna post it so people can see it without having to click the little link to view the graphic, join photobucket. (www.photobucket.com) Its totally free! To add a picture or graphic, just click "browse" and find the thing you want and click "Submit" Once it has been submitted, you will see your little graphic or whatever with 3 boxes-type-things labeled "Url", "Tag" and "Img" below it. Copy the "Img" link! Then just paste the link on a thread and post it and voila! People will be able to see your avatar or pic without having to click a thing! Hope this helps lol :D Good Luck hun!

Oh yeah, if you have any other questions, just ask me or someone else. Almost everyone uses photobucket when posting their avatars :)

No Problem! I know what I posted sounds complicated, but its really not once you've done it a couple times. Have fun Rachel!

download something virtual dub!
use it to open the video, find the section that you want to make a avatar from, note down the starting frame and the ending frame, open the video with Jasc, put the frames in the boxes then it will open at the right point! :)

.....btw try not to open too many frames at a time with jasc, because unless you have a lot of RAM or a high end Pentium 4 then it will most likely crash your computer!
