Is a Tricycle another name for a Bike?
Not quite.
unicycle: A vehicle consisting of a frame mounted over a single wheel and usually propelled by pedals. [syn: monocycle]
uni- [Latin ni-, from nus, one. See oi-no- in Indo-European Roots.]
mono- [Middle English, from Old French, from Latin, from Greek, from monos, single, alone. See men- in Indo-European Roots.]
Bike = bicycle: a wheeled vehicle that has two wheels and is moved by foot pedals
bi- :[Latin bis, bi-, twice,, and bn, two by two; see dwo- in Indo-European Roots.]
cycle: [Middle English, from Late Latin cyclus, from Greek kuklos, circle. See kwel- in Indo-European Roots.]
tricycle: A vehicle, used especially by small children, that has three wheels, one at the front and two at the back, and is usually propelled by pedals.
[French : tri-, three (from Greek tri-. See tri-) + Greek kuklos, wheel; see cycle.]

So..uhh, Marika wants to learn to be Dutch??:p
Funny thread this is! :)Oh my goodness what did you find, lol! :funny:
Now I dont buy this...here are the Dutch fans making it sound easy, nice short words which all sound almost the same as English....
Then when you see the language in action the words are impossible to say and each word on average 20 letters long. :funny:
I think our longest word is antidissestablishmentarianism. Thats a short word for the Dutch. :p

antidissestablishmentarianism
I think that's the reasoning behind being against the rules and regulations of dis establishment. :p
What is the definition of 'antidisestablishmentarianism'?
It's not only the longest word in the dictionary, but it means "opposition to the withdrawal of state support or recognition from an established church" (especially in reference to the Anglican Church in 19th-century England).
Apparantly. :p

how did you find out it was the longest word in the dictionary?
I just knew, and it said it a few other places on the net. Don't worry I didn't read the whole dictionary. :p
