Shania Fan Convention gets TV Mention

Timmins Cable local news channel 3 interviewed me yesterday in Timmins Web about the August Fan Convention. As luck would have it I was wearing a brand new 2003 Fan Convention T Shirt which was given a full close up.

Even though most of my comments were edited out for time reasons the close up of the T shirt was left in and that is the sort of publicity money just can not buy.

Terri from Timmins web will be putting the short 2 min clip on the Web later today and hopefully I will be able to place a link on this thread for those with Broadband to view it.

Even if Shania was going to turn up at the Fan Convention, many of us who have experienced the fun and joy of the first one would like that kept off the media as people who will only go to a Fan Convention to meet Shania are not the sort of fans we want to hang out with.

Shania will be in Timmins sometime, but not this year I suspect to "Open" the Shania Twain Centre. This will be given world wide publicity to attract people to Timmins at that time and boost the local economy and this may well be arranged around next years Fan Convention but I suspect that it would NOT be a formal part of the actual Convention events as the 3 day event is pretty well taken care of each year with other Shania related fun stuff.

We can have all the fun we like without Shania being present, though a very special thing may well happen on the first day it will not be announced until nearer August when details are final so as not to raise expectations ahead of the facts.

Glad to see you're having a great time over there. Much as I would like to visit the STC, and Shania country in general, it ain't gonna happen this year - in fact, I don't know when it's gonna happen!! :(

Anyway, you're a fine Shania Twain ambassador for Scotland - keep it up! :D

Yes there is and everyone on the Forums are so welcome, try make it this year if you can as I KNOW this is just going to be such a special convention with super Shania fans from all over the World getting together in her very special home town to kick up some dust.
