Tom Waller, world traveller and Shania fan extraordinaire, spoke to 80 grade 6 students at École Anicet-Morin in Timmins today.
His presentation spoke of his latest experiences on the E. Shackleton in the Antarctic as well as his experiences in the Falkland Islands.
Students were very interested in everything Tom had to share and were very curious, asking questions ranging to life in the antarctic, to the age old question of what is worn under the kilt. Tom had a great answer for that question!
Once again Tom... I know I said it in front of the students and teachers, but thanks for sharing your experiences with us. It was educational and entertaining. You are a great "raconteur" and have a tremendous ability to entertain those you come in contact with.
I`m probably going to line up a presentation at another school for you later this week.

Ren, thanks for the news!
Tom, great job! Having read your postings while you were down in the Antarctic I can imagine how the children would be captivated by your stories! What a wonderful opportunity you've given them!

Ren, unfortunately the presentation doesn't work, the folder and files in "antactic2_files" are missing. I'd certainly appreciate it if you'd try again, I'm sure the presentation is quite interesting! :)
Way to go Tom!! And way to go Ren for harnessing all that energy and enthusiasm that Tom possesses! Yep, you are an interesting guy, Tom. For our purposes you are also a fine example of a Shania fan. Keep up the good work (but I know I don't have to tell you that).

I'll try posting them again on Monday when I get back to work. I don't have the file at home.

Why thank you Sir, it was my pleasure to see such bright and well behaved children smile and laugh with me and I will be pleased to do it all over again later next week.
Thanks for doing the hard work in the PC department!
I think I've seen most of those pictures already. Heck I posted many of them in the Antarctic thread for Tom. But an audio cassette copy of his Antarctic lecture to the high schoolers in Timmins would be priceless.

Here are 2 pictures of Tom taken at another local school. A friend of mine heard about the wonderful presentation at my school and wanted the same presentation for his students.

Tom what a great thing you have done. You're a good man guy, its a honour to even say I've spoken even a few words your way. :D By the way nice stems. :p
Why Thank you Sir, Canada has me hooked now on Ice Hocky, I am turning into a right Canook by the looks of things! I was an honour to speak to such well behaved and turned out Kids, but one made me laugh... I asked what she had in her lunch box....
Mustard Sandwiches, she said as cute as could be.... Seems like there is still a load of Eilleen Twains passing through the Schools of Timmins. I gave her a $5.00 note when Ren was not looking :)
