Why on earth would you want to?

there may not be a way to un-register. i don't think anyone ever thought that it would be possible for a "fan" of shania to become a "non-fan".

isn't that like: trying to return your paycheck back to your employer? no-one makes provisions for those kinds of things.

this was a serious question and a privacy issue - to repeat - how do I deregister. Just because I am a kid doesn't mean I don't know my rights.

If your really that serious about it, just change your E-mail address and..... see ya, I guess.

You can change your profile, to do so see faq. As far as deregistaring, you'd have to e-mail Matt.

jade67,

I for one, am glad you asked the question. I think internet and forum activity should always have the option for a member to leave/de-register/cancel.

My original registration got gummed up after a few weeks, so I had to re-register. In the process, I made some technical mistakes and wanted to cancel that. Seems like I was unable. Got tied up in a big ball of knots and had to email Matt. He helped me re-register under my current member name. For a while, I was not registered at all, but not by choice.

I see you've posted a more recent message, in the "location" thread. Does that mean you may have continued interest here after all?

Actually, I've not cancelled my membership in the couple other forums I've joined. I just let one go inactive. After awhile, the messages get so old, that they scroll out of view and nobody even knows you were ever there. In fact, You almost have to come online about once every week or two, just to stay active.

I don't think that's true!

The stuff RJ said that you can go away for a couple of weeks and the account is no longer active.
