I don’t think things are as simple as they seem.

First of all, considering the FAFA (if you read it in my language it sounds quite funny) will take place, there are some things to consider. I mentioned not too long ago it took from September 20th till October 5th to get the number of posts from 7000 to 8000. Now it’s October 26th and we have over 10000. So within 6 weeks, there were 3000 posts. And the rate keeps going up. If it will remain as it is, we’ll have a minimum of 25,000 posts in the next year (the “forum year”, which starts in November). Now what I’m saying is it would be quite hard to keep a record about what happens. The problem is I don’t think there will be many people that liked a post from let’s say July and went to search for it in the archives. So everything will reduce to whatever happened in the near past, not the more distant past. So what would the solution be? I think these things should be organized more often, like once a month or a trimester, at worse. Putting them too close together might have some side effects, though, like there could be people organizing their post with a more or less obvious goal to win some of these categories, that’s if the awards gather the support and respect of the people around here. So the solution is as usually a compromise.

Now for the votes. If the awards will take place as soon as you wrote here, I don’t think there is the time to set up a reliable form. There are many problems with these forms, such as letting people vote more than once on different sessions, etc. Btw, who should vote? Posters only, members only, or anyone reading? On the other hand there may be some inhibitions if someone who isn’t a regular here might want to vote, but he has to send a mail for that. So may be reluctant to do that, because it’s a little more complicated, they may not trust Jersey or Ben or pure and simply don’t want to make contact (same reasons for not posting, but slightly adapted). So unless Armando pulls something out of his bag of tricks, I would go for the mailing method. It’s hard to think someone would go through the trouble of casting a fairly complex vote (compared to others) if he wasn’t particularly interested in doing so.

One more think... I’m not sure about that “Forum comedian” award.
We should include those statistic awards too. These above have been voting awards, where everybody expressed its opinion. But there should be some awards about longest post, the most frequent poster, the longest topic etc. These should be given by the moderators based on the database records. (Don’t worry, I don’t want these to award myself, I’m not gonna win the longest post, there are others longer than my longest ever. Believe me, I’ve checked).

Oh. I just finish reading all of Londo's post (lol) and I have a solution. I can make the form to have certin fields be required to be filled in order for it to go through. So I could make one that requires you to have an email address and a forums member name in order to have it sent. And whoever is in charge of tallying the votes can manage who has voted.
