Hi all,
Thanks for taking the time to read this thread. Those who have seen my Wallpapers I've created http://www.shaniaforums.com/showthread.php?t=31551, could you please post here which # wallpaper is your favorite and a short why?
Also if you have time, which # is least appealing to you and a
short why?
Interested in what everyone likes & dislikes , to try and better myself in my graphics/photo manipulations.
Please post the # of the thumbnail, rather than the actual
image of the wallpaper so those on dial-up do not experience too long a wait for the thread to load.

My favorite is #5. I like the pics you used. Also the colors. The transition. Absolutely perfect.
My least favorite is #27. It's because the doubling of the pic didn't work out the way it has to to be. That's the only critic I have on that pic.
For the rest, you are really improving. It's getting better and better. :up: :)

Thanks for your feedback ...#27 was when I was experimenting with trying to create a "drawing effect" from the photograph. Your input is helpful, thanks for taking the time to respond. Did you like #56? I was playing with creating a spotlight effect of her singing and trying to imply neon signage on the wall.

Hey Magikilwizard... firstly, you are my hero :D all your wallpapers are breathtaking :love:

My favs (which is almost impossible to choose, but..) are #10, 19 and 52.

10 because i loved the Up! Close and Personal show so much and adore any pics from it, plus the "King" is in there and i would so have loved to have seen these two duet :love:

I can't really comment technically as am no way qualified and dont have an artistic bone in my body, so these are just personal views.

My least favs are the collage ones - #43-47 - but purely because i prefer seein bigger pictures of Shania :funny: :love:

The slide series was made to try and figure a way to show the multiple images of Shania with a slide effect. Unfortuneately, many of the pictures used in the collages were to small in file size to be able to use full size to create sharp wallpapers due to the inherent nature of pixelation with over re-sizing.
I think everyone is creative and "Artistic" , including you....we each show it in different ways is all. My medium is photography and computer graphics, others is drawing, painting, dance, writing, singing, etc. Regardless, art is in "the eye of the beholder"..we each have our own feelings as to what appeals to our senses, whether sight, sound, taste, etc. So in your own right, I'm sure you are talented & artistic. :D
I like the Elvis wall too...because it reminds me as a kid growing up and seeing the re-runs of the old Elvis movies and hearing his music.
Will continue to make walls as time permits. Good to hear back from you.

Hi Illini Fan,

I generally use Ulead's PhotoImpact 7 for my graphics and photo work. Their newest version is 8 I think, but even the older versions didn't change much. The program runs around $99.00 or $49.00 for upgrade, and should be able to find cheaper if you search. That alone makes it worth checking into since my Adobe photoshop cost me +$599.00. Other programs I use at times are Jasc's Paint Shop Pro and Corel's Photo-Paint. Mostly though I stay with PhotoImpact, unless the others offer me the ability to do something I can't in it, ie- some effects they have when I don't have adobe compatible plug-ins I can use in PhotoImpact. It can use most of the adobe plug-ins , but not all. Corel makes a nice plugin call KPT Effects, and Flammingpear has nice plug-in called BladePro. Thanks for your feedback and hope you get to try the demo of any of these programs as they will be more than sufficient to create quality wallpapers or photographic manipulations/touch-ups.

my favorit is #3 becaue it's just so lovely!!!
the least appeling wallpaper to me is 10 because i'm not a a elvis fan...sorry..but the rest is very very very lovely..u've done a great job..very creative!

Wow those are SO awesome!!!! You are very talented indeed.

My favorites are:

#33 Because I'm canadian, and Shania makes being Canadian even better. It's very simple and neat, but that's what makes this wallpaper so great.

#19 is just awesome. The middle picture is wonderful, just everythign about it is great.

#31 I really like the pictures you chose for this one, and blue is my favorite colour. Her smile in the full body pic is really nice.

My Dislikes are:

#11 becuase I don't really like pink, and it just not my style.

#57 I really don't like simply because I don't like that picture of Shania at all. The colours and the way you layed it out was really appealing though, but the picture just doesnt do it for me. I don't like it when Shania tries to be sexy and take sexy pictures. Her natural pictures where she is laughing or with a real smile are a lot nicer in my opinion.


They are all very good though, and I appreciate you sharing them with us.

Good to hear your comments. I'm glad you liked some of the wallpapers.

I do a variety of color schemes, so depending on the mood or outfit she is wearing, I partially base the predominate color on that.

I like #5 - because the picture in the camera is from my favorite Shania photoshoot, #10 - because the effects are amazing, and Elvis and Shania r00l.

I like #11 because it's pink, and that's a lovely picture and I love the rose.

#12 because that's just all around gorgeous!

#54 because daisies are my favorite flower. :funny:

#55 because I think it's funny.

Least favorite is probably #3 or 8, don't know why. Just don't suit my fancy, I suppose.

Glad you liked the Daisy wallpaper...I took it with an olympus digital, then added shania...;) . I have fun experimenting with different ideas and like the feedback you all have given.

If we are talking about desktop wallpapers, here are my favorites:

#35,
#14,
#31,
#37, :hmmm: don`t know about those edges, maybe little too much white, but gotta love it because of those pics. Maybe blue background and edges would make that look even better :dunno:. If there is some white parts, make them blue, can`t go wrong ;) .
#17. Well, all these 5 walls have something in common, 1 or 2 great pics where you really can see those beutiful eyes and that lovely smile. What else is needed? There is nothing(pics, text, effects, etc...) too much. Those are perfect walls:bounce:.

And least favorite is #22, really like those pics you are using there, but it`s just "too white". And if there is many icons on desktop, that left side could be quite a mess :dunno:, and those pics are too small anyway.

.. and if we are talking about art, that`s a different story ;)

Thanks for taking time to give me feedback....it's greatly appreciated. The pictures on #22 are small, but no smaller than our avatars here. They were an effort to add more views of shania without having large enough pictures to use for decent wallpaper quality I use. But I liked the pics , so wanted to still share them. Glad you liked some of the walls and hope to post others that will be acceptable also. Colors....unfortuneately all have a variety of likes and dislikes for colors...so I try to do ones that appeal to me as far as the color scheme. My favorite color is blue...but used to be red & black..times and people's taste change and I just make what "seems" good to me. I realize I don't have the time to do walls that all will like...but maybe a few will appeal to some. The tastes of many and their likes are a personal "appeal" to them...so I strive to create wallpapers that "appeal" to my artistic inclinations. Some will work as good to some and bad to others. Yours and others feedback keep me to where I try to look at the aspects I can change to appeal to the audience of Shania fans.
