View Full Version : Almost ready?
Hey Ren and Tracy, are you all set for the Fan Con? Or still got bits and pieces to do?
If it were me, I'd be putting up the last displays at 3am the previous night :funny:
Have you made many special displays different from last year?
Hi Marika,
Yes, I think it would be interesting for planned and prospective convention goers, to get a thumb nail sketch of some of the new things to see in the STC.
I'm looking forward to the next update on the Convention agenda. I suppose it's in a state of flux, and they want to preserve maximum options and not chisel everything into granite yet. But it would be nice to see the list of likely activities, even without the exact sequencing, if there's been much change since the orignal announcement and the two important additions of J. D. and Cory.
On the other hand, STC staff and volunteers have limited resources. And they do a fantastic job of prioritizing their time and energy, into making the STC events the best that can be. So I respect their decisions on how much detailed information to create and share, and when.
Last year I remember some pollling of registered attendees, regarding their preferences between some of the options. I can't remember exactly, but I think some of that was before the convention. I know some of it was done after the convention.
Tom and I were visiting with Will Saari one day in South Porcupine. And I asked Will quite a range of questions. After hearing earlier from Tracy, about many of the activities planned and considered for the convention, I asked Will how they come up with so many great ideas. His answers were a pretty good match for my questions, and on this one, the sources of ideas he described, included fans, especially those who participate in events like the convention.

Lots of things are planned (as expected) and still lots to do. Tracy hasn't given me my list of things to do just yet. I`m sure it`s just a matter of time.
Ren
Ah, getting there, getting there it seems :D
Could someone explain me the Timmins/South Porcupine difference please?

Timmins was amalgamated a number of years ago of 5 different communities.... Starting in the west there is Mountjoy, then TImmins, Schumacher, South Porcupine and Porcupine. So South Porcupine is like a sub-section of the city of Timmins. Each little section seems to have their own little ethnic sub-cultures and different people, but they are all together in the city of timmins.
Ren
Ah, now I understand, thanks!
As a Finnish Formula One fan one of those names is a little disturbing for me

Yeah and if you forget your South Porcupine Passport they don't serve you at the Zoo anymore ;)
Oh and Ren, I will be visiting the STC on Monday to register a few more deligates to the Convention, so I will volunteer to do anything that I can to help ease the work load for you Guys in the run up to the convention.

Tracy should be back on Monday. I will try to pop in at some point. I`m taking an online course right now so it keeps me busy. Only 1 more week to go.
