Well, there aren't a lot of things bigger than a bus. But I know what you meant. If you were there, it might seem different. Being in someone's home away from home, so to speak.
Sounds like your dream was more accurate than Paul's bath, hey? I'm trying to remember who was the 3rd person I saw with the right guess.

Okay, that's about 5 now, who seem to have guessed correctly. Wonder who was the first one of that group to get it right?
I figured it was either the tour bus or Shania's motorbike from the IGGG performance.....then someone joked saying that it sounded so big it's going to need wheels, which of course it has!!!
Paul:)
Can someone post some photos? We're so jealous!!
Paul:)

Yes, they've been posted, last night I think, with descriptive text. Here's a link - the pictures you're asking about start near the bottom of this page and cover much of the next one:

Thanks!!! I guess when the forums members return we'll have lots of these pics here too......It's weird to think that Shania lived in there.......
Has it been donated permanently? Or just for the convention?
Paul:)

You posted on about Aug 1 about the results of your bath, and subsequent email exchange with Ren. The idea popped into my head on July 14 and I had similar email exchange with Ren that date. I wasn't taking a bath tho when it hit me. Think I was just sitting at the computer reading or writing a somewhat related post, when the pieces of the puzzle suddenly came into different and clear perspective for the answer. I wasn't going to say anything further, but Ren and Tracy both contacted me and asked what my guess was. I could go back thru my emails and see how many people had the right guess in private, as well as those few who mentioned it in public.
I remembered nothing about the Minnie Shania though. And we don't know for sure, that there isn't still another surprise dropping today. After all, one of the STC reps said the surprise would be known on Saturday. Meanwhile, they got to see Carrie Ann.
I'll have to give the STC credit, they did a good job of keeping us confused, with massive, but small, and more than one, etc. You did a pretty good job of misdirecting us from you real guess yourself.
I don't think I was the first one......Ren and Tracy told me that if it were the tour bus then that would be a possibilty.........so they are pretty good at this game!!! Between you and me, I think Ren and Tracy have enjoyed seeing us all sweat on this!!!!! ;) We have to get them back someday.......
But what a great convention it's turning out to be - I'm excited just reading about it, let alone actually being there.
Paul:)

Well, actually half the peole on the Boards are also members on the Forums. Roger will probably have photos for you, and Tom will cross post, most likely.
The bus has been donated until she needs it again, I believe. It's not just for the convention. I think the STC is storing both the stage and the bus for her. I gave them a number of suggestions after talking with Timmins community leaders my last trip there in May. One small portion of one of my suggestions involved storing the stage there. The other items are too large to let loose for speculation at this time. And the fact that one of the smaller ones has now been implemented, might only be a coincidence.
Meanwhile, I didn't make any suggestion about storing the bus there too. But I think the thought did fleet thru my brain one day, a couple months or so ago. Maybe that's what connected with the clues about big, massive, etc.
Well if Shania needs a home for the bus, I'm willing to look after it between tours!!! It's a lot bigger than my room when I go to Uni next month!!!
It looks pretty comfortable.....even Eja's little built in cot.
Paul:)

Yes, I know what you mean. I'm not even a fan, just a friendly supporter, and I'm quite happy to read the news and interact a bit. I've been going to Timmins since about 1978/79, long before Eilleen Twain joined Longshot or became well known. And I've been to most of the STC and fan fan events there prior to this one. So I know what's happening there this weekend. I know those people are having fun to the max. And I know half of them and can recognize many, some just by seeing a picture of the back of their heads.

Well, someone has volunteered to dust the wall full of Shania's plaques that just went up in the STC a few days ago. I'm sure they'll need to keep that bus cleaned and polished too. But it's a long swim for you to do that every week.

I can`t resist posting a quick message.
Tracy and I did have a great time bugging you all about this surprise. But to be fair, we never ever lied about anything (it was big, huge and massive) and we never denied any of the suggestions given except to say that it wouldn`t include a visit by Shania.
We had fun. I hope we have a big surprise for the next convention so that we can bug you some more till next year.
And congrats to Paul, and Bob who did get it right. The first person online that I remember saying it was a bus was Betsy (SAS) from the boards. She said it was bigger than a breadbox and had more than four wheels. Sounded like a pretty good guess. Then Roger, Paul and Bob all came up with the idea as well.
It is impressive and it allows us to see a bit of the more intimate side of Eileen.

Hmn, I see SAS posted on 7 15 04 about her question and idea. Here's the link: http://www.shania-twain.org/mb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14647&perpage=15&pagenumber=3
But she might have thought of it before then and not posted til then. In fact we might've had ESP going on the same day, 7 14 04, when I made my guess. Here's the link:
http://www.shaniaforums.com/showthread.php?p=570982#post570982
Here is how Ren from STC described the bus:
So when you enter the bus, you enter directly into Shania's living
quarters. On the left side on the way in is a fridge and freezer. Next to the
fridge is a stove top and an oven. There are cabinets above all of
these. Across from the stove is a small table for 2 with 2 very stylish
chairs made out of forged metal. The back of the chair is a horse.
Very cool. Right next to this is a small loveseat and a bed just behind
it. It`s probably a twin or double. Definetly cozy for 2 people.
Also in this area is a sink and more cupboard space. Next to the
kitchen area is a small space with a bed for Eja. It has rising bars to
keep him in bed when the bus is moving. Also in this front area is a
large tv with complete entertainment sytem. All controls for the
entertainment system are at the back of this front compartment. The
second compartment is a large bathroom. Plenty of room here with a
large well lit vanity, 3 large mirrors, toilet and a huge tub with
shower. There is also some closet space in this area.
The back third of the bus is the nannies quarters. In this area, there
is a set of bunkbeds, each with an individual little tv and dvd. The tv
screen is about 3 or 4 inches wide. Really cool. There is also another
double bed and a full entertainment system. The section also has
plenty of storage.

That certainly is a big fat Canadian surprise :great:
That's the big secret... Shania's tourbus used for the COO and Up! tours is there!!!Yes it was and still is....
Well I am not big on posting details, many of which I forget but I will try and give you the flavour and background of the many, many moving and fun filled events we all shared this amazing weekend of the 2nd Worldwide Shania Twain Fan Convention here in Timmins.
We have been Shaken, stirred and then shaken some more. We have been moved from tears of laughter to tears of genuine emotion by sights and sounds I can not even begin to do justice too in words.
The Centre staff and the workers of the City of Timmins have all been wonderful, donating there time and efforts often well into the small hours of the morning to help make this Convention the best ever.
After last year we all said, well how do they beat that… Well they did and blew us away in the process. I have no doubt that something very, very special happened this year and the Staff and delegates all know that. How do you post feeling and emotions so strong that you are moved to tears? Not just myself but JD and Cory and Shania’s sister felt this.
Well I am going to talk about the Bus. Shania’s touring bus and home to her, her Nanny and personal staff for over Two and a half years. A simple silver tour bus with New York plates than no one would give a second glance to from the outside. A coach with two generators, a water making plant, an air conditioning system, two 250 gallon fuel tanks, Cell and Satellite phone technology, personal entertainment systems for the two bunk beds, a 26 inch TV and entertainment centre. A coach with no obvious signs of overt luxury, but never the less so well appointed and designed that I just fell in love with the interior from the word go.
As a seaman I know how important your personal space is when you have to live in your workplace. I know how small things like where you store your shoes after your shift work. Small things like how you stop the motion of your living space becoming a problem with day to day items.
Not only is this a bus that has been home to Shania for the whole of the Come on Over tour and the UP! Tour in North America it is a coach with over 171,000 miles on the clock, yet underneath it is SPOTLESS. Inside it was spotless; obviously a lot of love and care has been lavished on it over the years.
As to the coach’s future? Well two schools of thought
1. It remains at the Shania Twain Centre and become a permanent exhibit.
2. It goes on tour in North America traveling to both the cities and towns raising money to pay for it’s upkeep and staff promoting the City of Timmins and the Shania Twain Centre/Gold Mine tours with a full time media spokes person (and how I would LOVE that job) handling the local media to the max.
So on the night we were to see the Bus, Tracy announced we all go outside to “Look at the new lights on the McIntyre Head frame” Nice one Guy’s – you had me fooled. The walk round was an unforgettable experience.
In fact when the bus was delivered to the Centre it was so full of personal items and an inventory had to be made – even the fridge was stocked with food and Eja’s toys were still neatly stored away ready for use. So many personal items in fact that some will be returned to Eilleen, and some will be displayed inside the coach in the near future.
Shania picks good staff to work with her, and it is so nice to know that the Shania Twain Centre staff are of that very high caliber and that her gifts to the Centre are displayed in a tasteful way that does not make the items just tacky “things” on display but a very, very moving experience that few Shania fans will ever forget.
This Bus is just one more item that will make any visit to Timmins that little bit more special. I hope the City tours it round North America so people can see just what a treasure Shania has gifted to the people of Timmins and the local economy can benefit from this priceless donation to the Shania Twain Centre.

Did the bus go overseas for her Europe leg of the tour?
No the Bus has however clocked up 171,000 miles in North America during the COO and UP! Tours and the interior has been remodeled twice during this time.

I really am confused with the entire debate which is going on with regards to the bus. It reminds me of parents discussing which post secondary institution their child will attend before the child is even a year old.
No one is going to let the bus rot............where did that notion come from.
No one is going to tour the bus anytime soon...........unless it is Shania as she owns it, pays for it, and decides what happens to it!
If we want to do a travelling exhibit, we can do exactly what we did in Nashville,.........pack the van with exhibits and go. That is more economical, and we OWN the van.
Let's also consider all of the things in the bus that could go missing while it is on tour.....many items in that bus can be picked up when no one is looking. If we took a travelling exhibit with the van, that could be better monitored. More people on staff can drive a van versus a bus. Van's don't need to be plugged into a 220volt plug to stay charged............should I continue?
Thank you for being concerned with the life of the bus, but Shania's people will keep us informed as to what we can and can't do with it, and we will take very good care of HER belongings.

Thanx for the dose of reality, Tracy. I said in the other thread that Shania's permission would have to be granted. I'm sure that taking the bus on tour was never envisaged and taking it on tour involves money and effort. Nevertheless, it would be a great way of taking a little bit of Shania to all those people who can't make it up to Timmins. More importantly for the STC, it would attract a lot more interest than your little van and serve as publicity for the STC. But if Shania is not interested, that's fine.
This is a forum for ideas, Tracy. It does not necessarily have to lead to action. It's like brainstorming. Lots of impractical ideas come up but so do a lot of imaginative ideas. I personally don't like to discourage people from coming up with ideas.

The thought of being Totaly in control is rather like using this French layout keyboard, a little freaky till you get used to it! Having fun in Dunkerque, details on the life/music section on the Shania Boards. Glad Shania has given it a mention though. Still thinking about Timmins you see. Very well said Tracy. It seems that people who don't own the bus or have any say in it want to control where it goes and who sees it. As I have said before, I thought it should be up to Shania, not her fans or anyone else...
In any case, I also thought that she had loaned it until she needs it again. I expect she would like it back in pretty much the same shape as she loaned it so it needs to be taken care of!

I just simply thinks it´s Shanias way to grow up that makes her keep the bus.

Being as I started this thread! Time I re stated my position long before any word official or otherwise had been posted: A vocal few in Timmins seem to think I somehow have all the answers about anything Shania: Few if any of these local Timmins people have visited the Centre or are active on the Internet:
They see the tour bus as a chance to promote Timmins in a way that would be self financing and are not going to get involved with the details in any way: That however will not stop them running down the City Council or any thing run by the City as they feel there Tax dollars are being wasted on the STC or anything else they personaly do not use:

And your point is....??
It strikes me that these 'local people' are not Shania fans at all then - in that case just ignore them! This forum is for Shania and Shania fans and if there are people out there that think the STC is a waste of money then that's their opinion. (But I have a feeling that it will not be the opinion of the vast majority who post here!).
In any case the point was that Shania should decide what happens to the bus as she has loaned it to the centre. To my mind, it's got nothing to do with some crowd of local people who don't want to know the STC and it's not up to her fans to decide by way of some irrelevant vote.

Well, Shania said it was just a loan so that people who go to the STC can check it out, and it would remain there until she needs it again, and you never know WHEN She'll need it so it is best if it is left there just in case.
If you take the bus out of the STC to use it then people who visit the STC wouldn't be able to see the bus, which is unfair!
It is also comparable to taking out the stage and doing gigs on it or taking out Shania's clothes and wearing them, all of which i am sure Shania wouldn't appreciate you doing, seeing how they are items that she has loaned!
