Timmins Times — The much anticipated day for Shania Twain fans is fast approaching and a schedule of events has been set for her return to Timmins.
Gates will open at the Shania Twain Centre at 6 a.m. Monday morning, and 150 wristbands will be available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 9 a.m.
Wristbands guarantee the fans an autograph from the international recording star directly following the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3:30 p.m. on November 2.
“To guarantee an autograph, all fans must secure one of 150 wristbands,” said director of media and artist relations and corporate communications at Universal Music Canada Tyson A. Parker. “Only one wristband will be issued to each person.”
November 2, billed as “Shania Twain Day” by Mayor Vic Power, will feature a party in the parking lot.
Gates will open at 9 a.m., and there will be live, local entertainment from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., along with a merchandise tent, food and bathroom facilities.
“Shuttle services will be provided through Timmins Transit,” said manager of the Centre, Tracy Hautenan. “People are encouraged to take local transit to the terminal and catch a Shania Twain Centre specified bus.
“Come and welcome Shania home,” she concluded.
