Theo van Gogh was killed this morning. There are more than 1 stories about what happened but he was stabbed with a knife once, he tried to escape and got shot 6 or 7 times and than got stabbed again, they say in the heart, they found a note on the body, they say that they stabbed the note on the body with the last knife.
He was 47 years old.
More info about him. (http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europe/11/02/netherlands.filmmaker.reut/index.html)
The person that did it got shot in his leg, a policeman did that.

BTW that CCN website says he was planning to make a film about Pim Furtuyn, but he had already started it right?

Yeah, I think that he started to make the movie, it's probably not finished.
That man that did it really wanted him dead, the official story is that he shot and stabbed him many times, even when he ran away, while doing that he shot another man and when he ran away after the murder he shot another man, a policeman but he wasn't injured a lot and he shot a few holes in policecars. And they did find a note.
Horrible, people should be able to give an opinion.
A few years and this man will be free again.
It won't stop people from doing this if they only get a few years, he had the note, knifes and gun with him, he planned doing this, and someone like that will be free in a few years again? He didn't even care about the people around him because a few others got injured.

He did start the movie about Pim Fortuyn yes, they just said it on tv.
It was almost finished or finished
There are many murders here lately.
Horrible what happends in this country, a few days ago 2 people got killed and the guy that did it shot himself after that without a good reason, the guy that did that was the ex-boyfriend of one of the people that he killed and her new boyfriend. And things like that happen often. :(
I don't really like this country anymore but I guess that things like this happen everywhere.

I heard it on 10 this morning that he was shot and half hour later that he was dead.
It is really sad that this happens right here. Because we Dutch people or famous in the world that we can say everything and do everything in our country. Doesn’t matter what it is, you can say your opinion.
And now in less then 2 years two people are killed because of that.
You can see in Dutch TV that the Dutch people are very mad about this. I only hope that the Dutch people don’t go against it and will try to solve this in a peaceful way.
I think the Dutch system sucks to, but with violence you don’t solve anything. You just lower you’re self to there level!
My thoughts go to his family and friends. I wish them strength.
