I spent about 2 hours outside earlier this morning to mend a building; it was roughly 8 degrees F, and windchills at about -15 to -17 F since winds were consistently out of the north at about 15-25mph. Talk about ouchies.

Right now, I think it may be worse at the moment. The low forecast tonight is supposed to be -3 F. Winds continuing.

Yeah. Speaking of which, I went out at about 6am to check a thermometer (electronic digital), and it read -1.4 F.

Roger

Out thermomenter read -32 this morning. The wind chill was -46. We don't have block heaters in our cars. Should be interesting to try to get them going.

:hide: :nervous: Yesterday in Edmonton it wasn't the cold. It was the freakin' wind. I hear it got too 110 in some places. It blew a part of a roof off a school. I thought the trees in front of my house were gonna snap. It also hailed here yesterday, which is something I aint never seen in December. It still wasn't below freezing, so it wasn't really cold.

Put some cinder blocks in a wood frame I built in the back of my truck until I get some sand bags. This should be an interesting event.

Ram 2500 4x4. Use it for snowplowing. Always looking for ideas on putting weight on the back end.
Plus people always asking me to haul their crap. Gets irritating.

Well we had it 'warm' today after yesterday's high of -29 deg C we reached the dizzy hights of -13 Celcius, no idea what that is in Deg F, but F stands for Freekin, freekin cold as I tried to take Christmas Piccys of Timmins for you all to share.

No idea of the snow depth, but loads of the stuff, Timmins City council has these little Snow pixies that come in the small hours of the morning and it all goes away.

We pile it up, the Pixies come and it is gone :D See photo section for piccies... and Christmas greeting to you all from the Shania Twain Centre.

Well, today we had beautiful weather close to 70F, but a storm front is moving thru as i type and the temp. is dropping 20 degrees. So tomorrow will be typical N.O. winter weather of about 40F, but Christmas Eve it is actually going to be COLD and the forecast includes a possibility of SNOW! That happens about once every 10 years or so here, and to snow for Christmas would be a miracle.

Here in Southeastern Wisconsin, its REALLY cold! We were in minus yesterday and supposed to be again today but with snow showers right now which I see no flakes in site.

I've been stuck working outside in this cold wind and yesterday I wore no gloves for 10 minutes and my hands were totally bright red. Because I left my gloves inside of my work by accident.

Sadly, that is real degrees Celcius add about 5 to 10 deg if you want to take the Wind Chill into consideration. Quite frankly at anything below about -30 deg C you are very silly to go out unless you are dressed so well wind chill does not factor into your survival.

Just taking your gloves off to clear snow from your car at -29 deg C can and does give mild cases of Frostbite every year to people in Timmins. And they should know better, but motorists in particular become insulated from the weather in the interior of there cars and it is only when they breakdown they find out there are NOT dressed for meat freezer and below temperatures.

Mild today though a mere -6 or abouts

Lots of snow here; a good standard all over the yard is about a foot, with 2 and 3 foot drifts varying in size. Very nice.

Mild today though a mere -6 or aboutsIt should be around that here after January and last until March. Today not so bad, it was into the Plus's for us, 5 was the high and same as Tomorrow. I'm just happy that I aint in Fort McMurray -40 with the windchill making it a blistering 60 doesn't rest easy for me. God I kinda feel sorry for my mom she's working up there, I said KINDA, it aint me. :p You don't have to worry bout them Prairie breezes, its not the cold that gets me its the wind blowing the cold.

Merry Christmas everyone. Christmas Day in Timmins Sunny and Bright -11 deg F is the daytime high falling to -40 deg F which just happens to be the same in Celcius so -40 deg F or C the result is the same, man is it ever cold in Shania's Hometown this time of the year.

Our Snow never clears so for weeks now the Snow Pixies have been trucking it out of town in the dead of night, Gillies Lake looks real pretty now it is a solid block of Ice (well not quite but you know what I mean)
