My Shania Poster [Archive] - The Shania Forums

A couple weeks ago when I was in Zellers, I saw this wonderful Shania poster. It wasn't even really on display cuz it was below all the CD's where it couldn't really be seen. Anyway, I asked the dude if I could have the poster seems how it would be going in the garbage anyway and I said I would be willing to pay anything for it. The dude looked it over and he said since there was no bar code, it wasn't for sale. I said I knew there was no bar code, but I had been able to get to get store display posters before so I just wanted another one to add to my collection. The dude just said "No, it's not for sale" and he walked away from me. A week later when I went back to see if the poster was there, it was and I was going to ask again, but that same little wiener dude was there so I didn't bother asking again. My little cousin was with me both times I had tried to get this poster and she had apparentaly nagged her mom to see if she could get it for me because this morning they came by with the poster! The only thing that's wrong with it is that the bottom is bent cuz that's what they had to do to it in order for it to fit underneath the shelf. Anyway, here's the picture of this wonderful Shania poster:

I put my Greatest Hits CD on the poster so you can see how big the poster actually is.

Wow that's lovely!

Reminds me of something I did once.....

I saw a Come On Over shop display at a record shop in the town where I was working, and I asked the guy if I could have it when it was taken down. He told me to come back at closing time and I could have it because the display was ready to come down....yipieee!!!

So at the end of work I went back, expecting it to be ready to take home. It was still up and the guy told me if I wanted it, I'd have to take it down myself. :shocked: So there I was, in a shop window in my suit trying to get the staples out witth my car keys without damaging the poster! :funny: God knows what people must have been thinking as they walked past! Like I cared anyway! :funny:

Anyway the poster is still in my room, I'm so glad I asked even if I looked like a total nutter! I recommend always trying it, the worse they can say is no.

That's AWESOME Jenn!

At a store here (Media Play) they usually have large pictures that look like the CD covers, and last time I was there they had a GH one. I might ask if I can take it home next time I go.

I tried to get a display copy of a Shania poster once too! It was like 6 feet tall (of the UP! album cover) Problem was though, the manager said he would give me it, but only if I paid him $150 dollars. Needless to say, I didn't have the money for that, so no poster!
