Is this date legit? Will it be the rumoured trad album? A new unplugged or live album? Or maybe the Live in Geneva DVD? Speculation mill is starting again! :D
Can't wait to see what it is

OMG, READ THIS:
From today's Irish Sun:
The Corrs are returning to their roots to make an album of solely Irish music. The band are working on it in Dublin with Michael Froom , who worked with them on their live MTV album and has also produced pop giants Crowded House. The new recording will include traditional, folk and contemporary Irish music. A Corrs spokesman said: ”People are always asking for more of an Irish element from them. So they plan to do all that including covers by contemporary Irish songwriters. They began playing Irish music with fiddle, tin whistle, bodhran and piano. It’s what they’ve done for years and they love it."
Tour
The Album will feature the BBC concert orchestra on several tracks. The Corrs will record with them in London next month before finishing it off in Dublin in April and May before release in the autumn.
They will probably take the orchestra on tour with them to recreate the the sound. The band took a break from their work on the album to attend last weeks Meteor Music Awards, where their manager John Hughes won the industry award. The Corrs usually include a tiny taste of traditional in their live set , with Sharon on fiddle, Andrea on tin whistle, Caroline on bodhran and brother jim on piano.

Oops.... I forgot all about this thread....:o
Not much news except that it's definately confirmed by Andrea (at a show) and Sharon's & Caroline's 'thank you' messages.
The BBC orchestra will definately be touring with them. And Andy has said that they have recorded a LOT of songs and they're now picking the ones they will put on the album....:)
"On a more positive note, the quartet are currently putting the finishing touches to an album of Irish covers, and original tracks featuring fiddle, tin whistle and bodhran."
:bounce::bounce:
Andrea also named 2 songs they have recorded (good chance it will be on the album, although not 100% sure): 'Peggy Gordon' & 'My Lagan Love'..:)
Hopefully they will perform some of the new songs during the (for now) 2 gigs they'll be doing!

Lyrics of the 2 songs:
Peggy Gordon
Oh Peggy Gordon you are my darling
come sit down upon my knee
and tell to me the very reason
why I am slighted so by thee
I'm so in love that I can't deny it
My heart lies smothered in my breast
But it's not for you to let the world know it
A troubled mind can find no rest.
I put my head to a glass of brandy
It was my fancy I do declare
For when I'm drinking, I'm always thinking
And wishing Peggy Gordon was here.
I wish I were in a lonesome valley
Where womankind cannot be found
And the pretty small birds do change their voices
And every moment a different sound.

My Lagan Love
Where Lagan streams sing lullabies
There blows a lily fair.
The twilight gleam is in her eye,
The night is on her hair.
And like a lovesick lenashee
She hath my heart in thrall.
No life have I, no liberty,
For love is Lord of all.
And often when the beetles horn
Has lulled the eve to sleep,
I'll steal into her sheiling lorn
And through the doorway creep.
There on the cricket's singing stone,
She makes the bogwood fire
And sings in sweet and undertone,
The song of hearts desire.
Her welcome like her love for me
Is from the heart within
Her warm kiss is felicity
That knows no taint of sin
When she was only very small
Her gentle mother died
But true love keeps her memory warm
By Lagan's silver side

(....) well the next couple of weeks takes me back to L.A. to work with Mitchell Froom on the new Corrs record (....)
Matt's website (http://mattchamberlain.com/_wsn/page2.html)
He's a drummer and he previously worked with Tori Amos (records/tour)....:)
I wonder why he's needed.... :dunno:
Maybe they need 2 drummers? :really: Or maybe Caroline can't make it to LA or something..
I dunno...maybe she can't make it b/c of the kids...:dunno:

Well since it's probably post-production....it's mostly the producer's job..:)
So technically the Corrs are done with their (own) job..

New rumours! :D
Go here (http://www.freerecordshop.be/shop/content/NL/CDverwacht.asp?navid=2&subnavid=111&gid=0) and you'll see a little surprise.... ;)
Apparently the album will be called 'Irish Standards' and will be out on June 24.. This of course is still a rumour (FRS are not always right).... :)
Found another (Belgian) site reporting the same....here (http://www.topdisc.be/releases.asp?month=6&year=2005&cat=releases).
Not so fond of the name, but anyway.... the content is more important..
Hope it's true, though I have a feeling it's too soon.. the Corrs themselves have said that the album is scheduled for a release in Fall and it was reported that the album would be finished around May.. so we'll see....
