Well, it's not the first time I won something, but anyway...
This afternoon me and my bro had tickets to a hockey game...just an OHL game though, not NHL. We unfortunately only had tickets to the standing room section because all the other seats (lower and upper bowl) were sold out. We got there like really early so we could get a good spot in the standing room - after all, we would be standing there for like 2 and a half hours.
So the game starts and they're announcing the players when all of a sudden they announce the goalie from last year would be playing this game! No offence to the goalie we've had play the past few games since the season started, but we hadn't won a game with him! The goalie from last year kicked butt...much more cute too!
5 minutes or so into the game, I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and this girl says "Excuse me guys" and we thought we were in trouble or something, but then I recognized her and knew she wasn't security. She's this annoying chick that goes around to people and talking to them and giving out stuff. She then goes on to say "You guys have been selected as the winners for the 'Move Of The Game.' You've won 2 tickets to section 107, row C. At the next whistle blow, you'll be on the jumbo screen and just act all happy and stuff as we announce you're the winners. You can then move to your new seats." Me and my bro got really nervous because we've never won anything at a hockey game and plus we'd be on the jumbo screen infront of like 10,000 people! She took our names and at the next whistle blow she announces "Ladies and gentlemen of the John Labatt Centre, we'd like to turn your attention to Jon & Jenn who are the winners of the 'Move Of The Game.' They've scored seats in section 107 row C. Congratulations guys!" Then we moved on to our new seats!
Our seats were so close to the ice, you could see the player’s pupils! Our seats were more like row B because section A is the wheelchair section, which was off to the side, so we were 2 rows in really! We’ve been down in the lower that close before, but only once…for my first OHL hockey game actually which was 2 years ago, except we were at the other end of the arena. Over the past 2 years the London Knights have become very popular…especially seems how last season they became OHL Champions, and Memorial Cup Champions! Getting seats in the lower bowl was easy back then, but now that they’re popular than ever, the only way to get lower bowl seats is to buy season tickets (tickets to every game) or…win the ‘Move Of The Game’ like we did :p It was so awesome! :D To top it all off, the Knights won they're first game this season!! :D:up:
Just thought I'd share that awesome news with you all!!
GO KNIGHTS GO! :]
