Hello :-)

Years ago, having been sold in the idea of getting my own copy of Come On Over and liking the happy, upbeat music on the CD, I bought my own copy and though it's one of my most fav CD's with From This Moment being my most favorite love song, I was a bit dissapointed at the music in the chorus of Honey I'm Home being different from the video. Then I noticed the CD was marked International Version.

I'm not gonna complain about that, but Shania isn't the only artist I've seen do something like that and I can't help wondering why any artist has different version of the same song on different media (radio, video, single, album, etc.) and in some cases, different versions of the same CD released in different regions. Anyone got any idea? :-)

Take care! *Hope to hear from you soon! *Wuff!

Like Üp!, Come On Over was marketed in different versions. There's basically two editions, the original country CD marketed primarily in the US and Canada (the cover has a front shot of Shania's face and is kinda reddish) and a pop remix disk marketed to most other countries (featuring a profile shot of Shania's face on the cover and kinda blueish-greyeish).
This was done to increase sales in different regions (and it is quite common that artists release remix albums of very successful projects). There's also two different versions of the video, eg CMC Australia always plays the pop version.
Of course, sometimes there's also songs which are edited for radio because of features which aren't compatible with radio (eg From This Moment On, where the spoke intro was edited out for airplay).
