SHANIANUTS!
01-27-2006, 12:02pm
It was December 22nd in the year 2005. In the city of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Across the street from a city park where I was waiting inside Cybil the
Wundervan for a friend to return from an errand. Probably 3:45 in the
afternoon. Suddenly the driver's side door opened. My friend Connie
stuck her head inside. "There's a man here who says he's got a brand
new Shania Twain CD for three dollars," she said, nodding toward a
person offering something that looked like a CD toward the van.
Vaguely.
"Damn," I expleted, "What a buy! And Bob's birthday is coming up next
month. Let's buy it! Can you lend me three dollars?"
"I really think it's stolen," Connie replied.
"No! No ma'am! It's not either stolen," came a kinda plaintiff plea
from the fellow proffering the CD. No ma'am. Not at all. It's brand
new. Just outa the box. Nothing wrong or illegal here. No ma'am!"
"Buy," I replied. "Buy. Bob'll love the story, if nothing else. The
story about his musical goddess being hawked on the streets of
Cincinnati like a common country singer. Like Tammy Wynette or... or
Connie Smith. Buy it. Buy it! I implore. If you can lend me the three
bucks, of course."
She could.
She did.
The seller was so delighted he took off in a glee-fueled race down the
block. Before the jewel case fell apart upon opening.
Unsigned, but whatta buy!

.....this was written by a dear handicapped friend of mine.....

..the CDs play perfectly and look like new and are good backups to my collection...;)
