Principal photography will commence February 6 at Leavesden Studios on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the fifth film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's beloved Harry Potter novel series.
Directed by award winning British filmmaker David Yates (The Girl in the Café, Sex Traffic, State of Play), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is produced by Harry Potter film series producer David Heyman and David Barron, from a screenplay by Michael Goldenberg (Where the Wild Things Are, Peter Pan, Contact).
Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson reprise their roles as close-knit teen wizards Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The production also welcomes back production designer Stuart Craig, costume designer Jany Temime, creature effects supervisor Nick Dudman, special effects supervisor John Richardson and visual effects supervisor Tim Burke. The director of photography is Slawomir Idziak (King Arthur, Black Hawk Down) and the editor is Mark Day (The Girl in the Café, State of Play).
Joining the stellar cast are Imelda Staunton (Nanny McPhee, Vera Drake) as Dolores Umbridge, the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher; George Harris (The Interpreter, Black Hawk Down) as Kingsley Shacklebolt; Helen McCrory (Casanova, Enduring Love) as Bellatrix Lestrange; Natalia Tena (Mrs. Henderson Presents, About a Boy) as Nymphadora Tonks; Kathryn Hunter (All or Nothing, Orlando) as Mrs. Figg; and 14 year-old newcomer Evanna Lynch, who beat over 15,000 hopefuls at an open casting call to win the role of Luna Lovegood, a Ravenclaw student who becomes an important ally of Harry, Ron and Hermione's.
In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry returns for his fifth year of study at Hogwarts and discovers that much of the wizarding community is in denial about the teenager's recent encounter with the evil Lord Voldemort, preferring to turn a blind eye to the news that Voldemort has returned. Fearing that Hogwarts' venerable Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, is lying about Voldemort's return in order to undermine his power and take his job, the Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge, appoints a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher to keep watch over Dumbledore and the Hogwarts students. But Professor Dolores Umbridge's Ministry-approved course of defensive magic leaves the young wizards woefully unprepared to defend themselves against the dark forces threatening them and the entire wizarding community, so at the prompting of his friends Hermione and Ron, Harry takes matters into his own hands. Meeting secretly with a small group of students who name themselves "Dumbledore's Army," Harry teaches them how to defend themselves against the Dark Arts, preparing the courageous young wizards for the extraordinary battle that lies ahead.

Thanks I am really up for this movie it is one of my favorites in the series due to Umbridge. And we will be seeing alot more of Sirius Black. Important things happen in this movie. I really hope they do two parts also. And it looks like we have people who know fantasy. It would be nice though if they wouldn't change it all the time. I guess Newell heard about all the negitive feedback and decided he must not be right for the directors chair in Harry's world.
Neville Longbottom will get to shine some too in this movie but I wont give any details you should really read the book it is alot of everything going on in this book. A journey that speaks for alot of courage and we come to find the true core of the series.
As for reading them in order I dont think it is needed because Rowling always at some point goes back to Harry's past and fills you in. Not all the details but enough. I have read them in order though because it's a series.

Umbridge and Lestrange really need to look WAY more evil! It's strange to think that J. k. Rowling only going to write one more book. By the way the 6th book ends though, it sounds like it will be a good end for the series.
I know it will be a happy and sad moment for us all who have been with the series since 1998. That has been a long time and I never thought I would like it and I started reading it and was hooked. It is a great story and it will be one that is passed down for many people to discover. Those who have never touched them but wondered about them will some day give them a chance. I know I will be thirty one day and pick this series up to remember all over again. It hurts to think about the end and it feels good to know we still have three more movies to go.

I think they will look the part once makeup and things are done. I think Umbridge is picked dead on she hasnt transformed into what we will see just wait she is gonna take her character perfectly.
She has a brutal personality yet she can look the part on the outside. Im gonna love Umbrige she's my favorite and Tonks

I found this out today I hope he does come back on we already know him to be Black. There is no reason he shouldn't unless other movies or things are more important. I dont want to see someone new Im just adjusting to the new Albus since POA!

Gary Oldman has not yet been presented with or signed a contract to appear in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, HPANA has confirmed.
Despite a recent statement from the studio, we have learned and double-confirmed that no agreement has been made.
"At this time Gary Oldman is not set to appear in the next Potter film," manager Doug Urbanski told HPANA. "I cannot explain why the studio confirmed his appearance."
It's unlikely Oldman wouldn't reprise his role as Sirius Black in the fifth film.
Note: This does not imply he won't be in the movie, just that there's no current definitive agreement for him to appear.
I hope Gary Oldman comes back he is an awesome actor.

Oct. 2, 2006 issue - "Harry Potter" might lose one of its stars. The fifth film in the series, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," is currently filming at Leavesden Studios north of London. Negotiations to lock in Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) for the final two films are in the preliminary stages, and while the boys are likely to commit, Watson, 16, is unsure. "I don't know yet," she told NEWSWEEK near the set of 12 Grimmauld Place, secret headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix. "Every film is such a huge production, and it's a long time." Saying yes would mean she'd be playing the studious Hermione until she's 20. Watson scored near-perfect grades on her national exams. College must be on her mind, not to mention a career, and she's not sure acting is in the cards. "Daniel and Rupert seem so sure," she says, and looks sincerely plagued that she isn't. "I love to perform, but there are so many things I love doing." Pause. "Maybe that sounds ungrateful. I've been given such an amazing opportunity, but I'll just have to go with the flow."
They are at the mid point probably in Order of The Phoenix so I think there is spose to be a trailer around Christmas time. I do hope Emma does what makes her happy. I think she is wanting to experience more acting in a different role. Thats all she needs Im sure she feels stuck as just being Hermione. That would certainly help. She has projects for other movies.
We'll all have to wait and see I do hope they can end the movies together the three of them. I can't imagine it's a difficult question they have to ask themselves do they want to finish?

That's not what she told in the interview. She doesn't know if she want's to be a full actress. There is no line about not doing the next two Harry Potter movies.

Sept. 24, 2006 - Emma Watson, 16, plays scholarly Hermione Granger, gal pal to Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) and Ron Weasely (Rupert Grint) in the “Harry Potter” movies. She sat down with NEWSWEEK on the set of the fifth film, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” at Leavesden Studios, north of London. Watson recently learned that she had aced her national school exams, which are an infamous cause of anxiety for British students.
NEWSWEEK:Congrats on your exams. You knocked it out of the park.
Emma Watson: Oh, thank you. I’m so happy. I couldn’t believe it.
Are you still enjoying making these movies after all these years?
Umm, I am. It’s nice having a new director each time. I keep getting pushed and challenged, and that’s’ really nice.
Daniel Radcliffe said that David Yates, the series' latest director, is really stretching him as an actor. Is that true for you, too?
Yeah, definitely. David won’t settle for anything that looks like acting [laughs]. What keeps coming up a lot is his search for truth in the characters and the performances. He really wants it to be real. The fourth film [“Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”] was sort of about all the tasks, fighting dragons, and all of that. This film is about Harry fighting his inner demons more than dragons. It’s about the emotional journey. So I think David is the perfect director for that. Also, his previous work has all been quite politically based, like “Sex Traffic” and “The Girl in the Café,” and with this film you see much more of the world outside of Hogwarts. [The book and film deal, in part, with how the Ministry of Magic begins to restrict personal freedoms and civil liberties following a wave of attacks.] I think this film will be quite relevant to what we’re all experiencing at the moment with all of the terrorist attacks. The film eerily coincides with all of that.
When I interviewed you on the first film six years ago, Daniel and Rupert were teasing you quite a bit.
[Laughs.] Yeah.
What are things like between the three of you these days?
They just just keep me laughing really. They don’t tease me quite as much as they used to, which is nice. It is a very nice, crazy friendship.
Do they feel like brothers to you?
Kind of, yeah. It’s funny. It’s been an intense and very long friendship. We’ve known each other for six years now, and have seen each other almost every day. I mean, they’ve seen me in every single state. They have seen me at my most glamorous and they have seen me at six in the morning with no makeup on. They do feel like my brothers. And we’ve been through all the ups and downs of this mad experience together. Yeah, it’s nice.
Do you think you want to be an actress for the rest of your career?
I really don’t know. Daniel and Rupert seem so sure. I don’t know. I wouldn’t want “Harry Potter” to be the last thing I do. Nothing is ever going to be quite on the scale of this. I appreciate that. And also I’ve come into acting in such a funny way. Most people who want to act have to sit through hours of auditioning and work their way up, whereas I seemed to have come straight in at the top, having had no experience at all. That’s quite a strange position to be in, but amazing at the same time because it has given me so many options and choices. I definitely would like to try other films to see what it’s like. I’d really like to try some theater, actually, because I think I would really enjoy that immediate response from an audience. I love making people laugh. I love to perform, but there are so many things I love doing. [Pauses.] Maybe that seems ungrateful. I have been given such an amazing opportunity, but I’ll just have to go with the flow and see what happens.
Well, you’re not supposed to have all the answers at 16.
Yeah, but people keep asking me, so I keep thinking I should know. [Laughs.] Everyone’s just like, “So what do you want to do with your life?” And I’m like, [sighs], ‘Right.’
Do you like the glamour aspects of this job?
The glamour aspects?
The premieres and the gowns and the hair and makeup …It feels like I’m famous for about two weeks of the year. [Laughs.] I know it sounds strange, but it does. That glamorous part, it feels a bit like a mad surreal dream. But, yeah, I suppose I enjoy it. When you get to a city [for a premiere] you feel a bit hazy because you’ve got jet lag, and people are screaming at you, and you’re being rushed from one place to another and suddenly you’re in all these beautiful dresses. It’s a bit mad, but it’s good fun. I think what I love most is that I’ve been able to travel. If it weren’t for the “Harry Potter” movies I never would have gone to America or Europe and everything—well, not until I was older, anyway. I’ve been able to see New York. I’ve been to China, Tokyo, L.A., Chicago, all these amazing places. So that’s been really great. And flying first class, that’s an experience.
It’s the best, isn’t it?
Oh, my god, you have no idea! I love little things like the airplane bags you get with all of the moisturizer and the little toothbrush. And the reclining seats! For me that has to be a highlight.
Well, Emma, it’s pretty certain you’ll never have to fly coach again.
[Laughs.] Thank you.
And how are things with dating and boys? Do you get a lot of attention from them?
People say to me, “Oh it must be so easy for you. They must be lining up for you.” It’s really not easy. It’s really not. I suppose guys are either kind of intimidated by me and have their defenses up, or they like to take the **** out of me. [Long pause, then sighs.] It’s a minefield, to be quite honest with you. Really. Ugh. It’s stressful.
It’s stressful even if you’re not famous.
I know! And then adding that into it is an interesting like extra dimension. I really like guys as friends, actually. I have about as many guy friends as girlfriends, which is kind of unusual, I suppose. But because I’m in these films, there tend to be more guys around than girls. Plus, you know, I spend so much time here. I’m here for 11 months of the year, and in the free time that I have, I feel like I’m running around between family members and trying to see the friends that I already have. So, yeah. I will just have to wait. Maybe someone will find me. We’ll see.
Well, there are a lot of cute guys working on the crew here. But I guess they’re too old for you.
Yeah. That’s my problem. I think, “Yeah, he’s really good looking, but he’s like, 25! Come on, help me out here!” So, no, that’s not really happening. [Laughs.]

For that reason of the fifth title I don't know at all actually, I'll have to read all Harry Potter books:p Four years ago I bought the first book, but first I was lazy to read it and I only saved it, and when I was gonna read it, it was lost:p Well just to me happened that kinda things:D But soon I'll read the book and can understand what the titles means:)

Nope, I'm not a really harry potter fan and a harry potter reader. But it's new to me, Or I might've seen that but can't remember, cuz I have time since I'm not uptodated to harry potter news, besides I didn't watch 2 and 3 movies:p

No, as a matter of fact I haven't read the books, at first they seems to me kinda boring, then watching over and over the movie I started to be interested on it, but for many reason I haven't bought the books:p Maybe some months later I'll adquite one of them, but till the school is over, cuz the time for me is very tighten. But I'll do for sure:D

Laura Mallory, a mother of four, told a hearing officer for the Gwinnett County Board of Education on Tuesday that the popular fiction series is an "evil" attempt to indoctrinate children in the Wicca religion.
Board of Education attorney Victoria Sweeny said that if schools were to remove all books containing reference to witches, they would have to ban "Macbeth" and "Cinderella."
There's a mountain of evidence for keeping Harry Potter," she said, adding that the books don't support any particular religion but present instead universal themes of friendship and overcoming adversity.
In June, the county's library board eliminated the $3,000 that had been set aside to buy Spanish-language fiction in the coming fiscal year. One board member said the move came after some residents objected to using taxpayer dollars to entertain readers who might be illegal immigrants.
Days later, the board reversed its decision amid accusations that the move was anti-Hispanic.

Bellatrix is great I think Umbridge is gonna really be good I cant wait to see all the hard work once it's finished!
