Suggest a new 'main' picture for the Forums

You see the picture in the upper right hand corner? Now is your chance to suggest a new picture to replace it.

The size is 171 W x 276 H.

If you are graphically inclined, please resize a picture to those dimentions, and if you are a wizard, you can also give a sample of how it would look in the current layout.

You can however also suggest pictures which are not resized. But please do not link huge pictures here with IMG tags. If you have a really big picture to suggest, please put a regular link here.

Admins will have the final say in which picture to use, but your opinions are more than welcomed, so don't forget to second a suggestion you like.

I think a preliminary time limit of one week for initial suggestions?
If we get enough good choices by then, we can move to selection process.

Please think carefully what picture you will submit, we do want lots of suggestions but it's good when certain aspects are thought of before posting, like how would it fit the Forums layout and that corner position etc.

I was there and saw this happen. Shania has a good sense of humour and no false pride. She just laughed it off. Well, it was funny.

The Self mag pic for sure is the newest, and I believe got most support, but background is orange, so unless background colour can be changed, cannot be used in this current blue skin, but we'll see what will happen.

I'm thinking...I'll try to find a picture to fit, but I think it definately should have all of this:

- Be fairly recent

- Be a typical Shania pic, not too extreme as in Maxim or the Superbowl (I know those aren't recent, but something more typically Shania, you know what I mean).

- Something quite classy

I like the Greatest Hits shoot personally for this, but maybe that is too similar to the official site? I like the Bambi awards pics too, nice colours and very Shania.

Do you think she will model for us especially? :p

I like the first one best but if this pic is to go on the right side of the screen she is facing the wrong way. Also I don't like the colour balance. I would warm up the colours.

Sorry. I just don't like Shania looking to her left (our right) when the pic is on the right hand side. It feels too much that she is looking away from us.

The other question is whether you want full figure shots or just head and shoulders. Shania has such a fabulous shape that I'm sure the male fans prefer full figure. The top pic shows off her figure the best. I think I prefer the full body shots myself.

Yes thats true also.....I like the full length shots but then they look a bit distant compared with head shots or upper body shots. Once the background is removed they will look awesome. I think an upper body shot would be better in this case, although the two I suggested have shania crouched down, so they kind of fit.

Yeah, an updated home page would be a welcome change! My vote is for either the SELF mag pix or from the Shania by Stetson photo shoot. Red, orange, or pick colors would brighen this place up and cordinate w/the pix I suggested. I'm tired of the blue/gray color scheme (sp?). Also, we need to get rid of the "pre-order the official 2006 calendar" ad on the upper right-hand corner! LOL! Or maybe change it to 2007, heeheehee!

The thing is, vBulletin is at 3.6 at the moment, the previous version being vB3.5.4. 3.6 has certain items we want as standard, but it's fresh, so we will wait till it's had a couple bug fixed to upgrade. Any skin developments will need to wait after that as templates will change etc. It's not all that simple as one might think, that's why some wait.

I have to agree. The starlight photos seem a good choice. Seeing as it's Shanias latest product it keeps the forum up to date with what Shania is up to and she looks absolutely stunning in that shoot.

As for the Shania Starlight pic, it is pretty, but I'm starting to get tired of seeing it already. Sorry, I know it's the most recent, and she does look stunning, but I don't think we should use it. That one or any other promotional pic.

I think we need something that can represent her whole career, something we can all relate to. The perfume pics make me think of perfume, not Shania, her music or what she represents. I think it would be dated to use them.

I think a good choice would be the pic of Shania with her guitar on the couch. That pic is in my top three because to me it represents her love of music. Isn't that what it all comes down to in the end? After all, that's why we're all here, her music brought us together. We should rejoice in that. As for the colour scheme, I don't like the orange or brown, but maybe, if it's used subtly, the reds, burgandys and maybe a touch of the gold.

To tell the truth, I like what we have now. I don't see why we have to change it at all.

I am not being biased 'cos I designed this but I really do like the Starlight theme and piccie because like I said I love black and white and it just looks more mature to me. But that's only my opinion and some will like my design, some wont. So far I love Raphaels design, even above the Starlight one. It's such a lush theme and makes me think "Mmmmmm".

I can't take the credit for suggesting the guitar pic. Someone else elected it on the first or second page, I think. It was my first choice regardless. I think it, or one like it, would be appropriate. IMHO that is.

I guess a blueish/greyish/black background pic would suit the current theme here. The guitar pic would suit a possible red themed skin.

Even if a new pic now would be from Starlight collection, I would think once we have a new album we'll get plenty on new nice pics to choose from for a new pic after a possible Starlight one if we so choose this time. But like I said, maybe we wait a couple of weeks to see if new better recent pics will become available?
