At the ask BILLBOARD feature , which has fans writing in and asking BILLBOARD questions about artists sales , ect...

1 person asks about the sales of COO and why the Soundscan number is different than the RIAA numbers. ;)

Read the second question. "DATA DISCREPANCES"

http:www.billboard.com/bbcom/ask_bb/index.jsp

This can apply to all of SHANIA's CDs except for UP! which was counted twice but , UP! still could have sold 1O million in the U.S. :D

That's true. I would guess it's much closer to 20 million than 15 million. I read that it sold 1 million copies from one of those clubs alone.

yep, club sales. Just in BMG Music club COO sold over 1.99m copies, and all her 4 albums (there is no data for the GH) sold more than 4million copies in that music club alone.

Well Come On Over has sold 2 Million in BMG Music Club alone, making it the biggest selling album in BMG history, so that makes about 17.5 Million hard sales when you add it to COO's Soundscan figure. Then there is the Columbia House record club, who have never released sales figures unfortunately but it is apparently bigger then BMG so we can only speculate how much COO sold there (must be well over 2 Million, I wouldn't be surprised if it is the biggest selling album there too).

So...if UP! was counted as double album, are there only about 5.5 Million copies sold in USA?

Yes, according to Soundscan, UP is almost just at 5.5 million. On my last look, it was above 5.4 but below 5.5 million.

Even though that number may seem miniscule compared to the numbers of TWIM and COO, it is still the best selling country album to be released since 2002. No other album has moved that many hard copies to date.

I think 5.5 Million copies is great number. And we know that in the time of TWIM and COO there were not internet downlouds and so many illegal downlouds and CD`s.. :(

And UP! stayed for 5 weeks at #1.How many weeks stayed it in TOP 20 on Billboard 200 and how long stayed it in Country Chart?UP! was in top 10 around Europe after more than 1 year after it saw a light in November 2002. :)

Multiply that by two and that makes it 11 Million (11x Platinium) that great
