MISSISSAUGA, ON, May 11 /CNW/ - Why is there nutritional nformation on my box of tea but not on cases of beer? This is the question Ray Wali is asking Health Canada and Beer companies alike. "It is ridiculous that alcoholic beverages are exempt from listing their nutritional values while my tea bags must have it."

The growing costs of alcohol related illness is weighing heavy on the health system and Wali feels part of that is due to the fact that consumers are in the dark about what they are putting in to their bodies. "Consumers are guessing. We have no clue how much protein or carbs are in the beer we drink. This is going to have to change and quickly."

Through his buzz marketing firm Mango Moose Media Wali will be launching a multi-faceted campaign to lobby to have this changed. PR, online, and word-of-mouth tactics will be used to put pressure on the Beer companies and Health Canada to regulate these changes. "We feel it will be accomplished because companies realize what's good for their consumers is good for their business," says Wali.

To support the effort, people are encouraged to go to www.beerinfo.ca and fill out the online petition form.

Last year we visited a beer distillery that's in downtown Toronto. I don't like beer, but I tasted a glass of their product. It was the best beer I've ever tasted. That's because it doesn't have any preservatives or added incredients, just 4 basic incredients.
Beers usually have so much added incredients that it's just toxic.
