If one looks at Shania's latest interviews, her comments on the issue of their privacy, why they moved to Switzerland in the first place & then look at what happens every summer... :uhh:
...all one has to do, is check out some discussion boards on the Internet & see how some people are planning yet another "Fan Convention" right outside their gate... :sad:
Well, I'd get out of there, before one could say: respecting one's idol's right to some privacy.

thats a shame if thats the reason they are selling it, cause I was just looking at a shania interview the other day, were she was talking about her fans and how she was saying she knows that her fans know that she needs her privacy. It's a shame some ppl dont see it that way :(

I'll tell the truth....I want to go to Switzerland in the near future. Yeah, I wouldn't mind visiting Geneva. But as fan would I stop in Shania's backyard...NO! Cause I respect her on that private level and I believe everyone on Earth should have the right to live their own life.

Hell, she could even look into Montana or Wyoming....She could walk away with good chunk of horse acres for such low price. I know for sure there are areas in Wisconsin where the dairy farmers are at....they wouldn't care who she is. Cause they are busy in their farming lives.

See that's what i was thinking maybe Shania and Mutt don't want to own a dozen homes all over the world and only want a family home and a vacation home or two. Shania (IMO) never really want to show off her wealth she just likes to share it. So thats probably why.
Another possiblity is that Shania and Mutt are starting to get harassed by paparazzi and want to get away from in IMO
Well, we don't know why the Langes are selling and it is none of our business but this does fly in the face of everything Shania has said about living in Switzerland. I think I will keep my own speculations to myself for the moment.

As you said, no one knows why they are leaving, if.
There can be lots of practical reasons why they are leaving, which aren't connected to any of the reasons Shania gave in interviews why they choosed to live there at the first place.
Any reason fans are bringing up now to the whys is pure speculation. We may (probably) neber will know all or any reason why they are selling it, if they do. As Shania never gave all the reasons why they choosed to live there.
And she doesn't own us any explanation.

So now at least 2 of her homes will be for sale at the same time (the NY Adirondacks property has not sold to date). Don't know status of the the Florida home.

heh... the reason we didn't immediately kick this thread off, was that the property is on sale. Publicly. So, logic would say that they are eventually or already have moved out... is discussing this, or is it not against our rules of respecting privacy..? - Now that's a pretty darn good question.
What does the sale of the property have to do with Shania's music..? IMO: absolutely nothing. In that sense, it's none of our business.
BUT: on the other hand - they also recorded music there (in that sense it holds some historical value) - but it was also where they live(d)... and they deserve their privacy.

...this topic also raises the issue of respecting celebrities' privacy, paparazzi armies & swarming of fans, where they need not to be. All in one.
I've always considered entertainment to be listening to music, seeing a concert, reading a book, watching a movie... things like that.
...where do those creative individuals reload their souls to come up with new exciting offerings for the rest of us..? - In peace & in private.
But, do we allow them that luxury in the modern day..? :really:
Just look at those so called "entertainment shows" on TV: paparazzi harassing stars to the point of eruption & the more upset the target becomes, the faster those flashes go off. It's sickening, IMO.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had to travel to Namibia to have their child. Did Martti Ahtisaari negotiate independence for that country, so that the paparazzi could come in to prey..? - I don't think that was the idea...

True. Does anyone know for sure how many similar châteaus by the same architecht might be in that town..? And nobody has mentioned that they would leave the country altogether.
Still, I'd say that for being obviously a clearly low-profile couple, their decision on their residency wasn't.
However, again, this isn't yet a totally 100% clear situation.

I am not condoning the actions of those who made pilgrimages to Shania's swiss mansion -but i have to admit that every time i pass by Indian Grove here in Toronto (about 5 minutes walk from my apartment) I can't help but wonder how often Shania walked the same pavement as me in her time here, and what house she lived in ;)
I guess we humans are curious by nature, its just knowing where to draw the line.
I'm guessing Shania and Mutt don't want their main base to be Switzerland, partly because of the fans but also I imagine Shania wanting all her things together. Imagine spending a summer in New Zealand when all her horses are in Switzerland. Maybe it just makes sense to move.

I would just remind everyone that, in the latest edition of his biography, Robin Eggar points out on page 341-342 that some of his contacts wondered how long the Langes would be content to live in Switzerland. Then in our discussions with Robin, he also pointed out that Mutt had had recording equipment moved to NZ.

Thats right, her private life should be private. We don't need to know everything, and she has the same rights as everybody else, fame or not. :D
We can have more than satisfied with her musical news, her family doesn't matter for us, well i'm being realistic, but it's true. The majority of the news nowadays are doing with familiar scandals or something about private life of some artist and that is sad, but unfortunatly this will never finish.

I have noticed that anymore on a cover of a magazine you will see pics of people and the aricle has to do with them getting married, having kids, going to jail, going to the hospital, or revealing their sexuality, anymore i can't stand to look at celebrity magazines they all say the same stuff and has nothing to do with the celebrities fame life just their personal life. Yea it's nice to know when they are having a baby but do we have to know how far along she is every month, yea it's nice to know when a celebrity couple gets married but do we reall have to know what going on inside of their married life every step of the way? It's nice to know things but the fans don't need every small detail in a celebrities personal life, it's why they call it "personal".
I just watched the movie "Paparazzi" and it's a good movie and it show how crazy paparazzi can get and how in depth they try to get into a celbrities personal life. IMO, the whole world don't need to know when a celebrites kid has a soccer game or is going to school, that's part of every childs life. I mean you don't see an everyday person's child in a magazine because it was their first day of school, or if thay got in trouble at school.
I say, just leave a celebrity personal life alone, if they want the whole world to know, then let them tell the world not some stupid magazine.
I just hope everything is fine with her and her family. I truly and absolutely believe in the love she and Mutt share and I never doubted in my mind that they would make it all the way. Just these news are a bit scary. I mean, we haven't heard anything from her for so long and saying I miss that would be an understatement. I have always been someone who respected her privacy because I know she values it so much. But I am not ready to let her go and dissapear and live a quiet life...you gotta be selfish sometimes. LOL
Although I do understand if she is moving because she doesn't have enough privacy anymore. Somehow I just don't believe that's it. She has been out of the spotlight for so long. Why would anyone still camp in front of her house?

I just watched the movie "Paparazzi" and it's a good movie and it show how crazy paparazzi can get and how in depth they try to get into a celbrities personal life. IMO, the whole world don't need to know when a celebrites kid has a soccer game or is going to school, that's part of every childs life. I mean you don't see an everyday person's child in a magazine because it was their first day of school, or if thay got in trouble at school.
I say, just leave a celebrity personal life alone, if they want the whole world to know, then let them tell the world not some stupid magazine.
This ain't going to happen anytime, while the artist exists, the paparazzis will always be up to date with what the famous people are doing, for them it's important every little detail, if the kid is going to school, if her husband of his wife has some kind of problems, many stuffs like that nothing to doto with the artistic life of the person.
I agree what you say, but unfortunately this world of the paparazzis never ends! ;)
I hope they are not moving because of privacy issues. But frankly I don't care where they live, it is none of my business. As a wise woman once said when she twisted the title of her autobiography and said "It's my life and it's none of your business."
Exactly! It's none of our business!;) We don't care about her life, cuz we're an important part only about her artistic career; her personal and privacy life is apart.
