I have posted these pics before too, but in Timmins forum, as we visited Niagara Falls after the Fan Convention last year. But I thought this subforum is a great place to have a separate thread about this magnificent sight :D

There are 2 Falls in Niagara, US Falls and Horseshue Falls, and Canada side is much better for viewing both of these. We did go to US side also, to get the complete experience. You go all the way there, why not go for it :p

Skylon Tower viewed from US side. You can go up the tower to have a spectacular view of the falls :)

They have built this little sightseeing ledge on the US side to give a better view from that side:

The falls are truely amazing! Pics and words can't describe them...you have to see them for yourself:D

Just be patient when going through US customs if you are from outside North America:eek:

The falls are amazing! You HAVE to go on the Maid Of The Mist. As Marika said, You go all the way there... you may as well go into the falls ;) :D It's indescribable.

I wish I could go again.

If I'm right we'll visit the Niagara Falls too this summer! :up:I sure hope you go, seeing them is really a must, very impressive :cool:
And there are several sights you can take. There is this little trolley going up and down the street, stopping at the sights. Some sights are a few kilometres away, so worth taking the tram.

There are organized tours from Toronto, but we took a Greyhound Bus from Toronto Bus Terminal (bus continued on to New York after stopping in Niagara Falls). That way you can choose from any of the buses going back and spend the whole day in Niagara Falls :)

A bit away from the falls you can cross the river in this thing...it was fun:DGuess if I went on that with my fear of heights? :p

So I thought that those of you who did go to Niagara in August might be interested to see my photos.

Here looming at the top of the hill is the Skylon Tower:

Here is a shot of part of the American Falls, called the Bridal Veil if I remember correctly, which I took from the Maid of the Mist boat. Note all the people in their yellow raincoats:

Speaking of the Maid of the Mist, here is a shot of it through the mist. We all had donned blue plastic raincoats:

No matter how often I go to Niagara, I never get bored with riding the Maid of the Mist. It is truly thrilling to get that close to the falls:

We were really lucky to have the light conditions just right for rainbows. It was too big to capture in a photo but we saw the complete semicircle. Here is part of it:

Marvelous Pics! Thanks! I'd love someday to visit the Niagara Falls again, When I went to there I couldn't enjoy the moment, the next time I'll be glad to know every place in there! Beautiful.:D

Now this doesn't have anything to do with the Niagara Falls, but happened at the Toronto Airport last Tuesday, as we were queueing for the check-in:

There were several large signs saying:

NO LIQUIDS OR GELS BEYOND SECURITY CHECK

hmm... still, there was an airline rep. lady asking if people understood what they were allowed to take on board & what they weren't.

So, when she comes up to us, I ask: "No liquids or gels allowed, right?"

"Right", she says.

"Silicone is a gel, right?", I ask.

"Yes, you are correct. And it's not allowed on board the aircraft."

I thought for a while.

"Hmm... so... if a lady would have breast implants... would you allow them on board?"

Okay, Kay and I hosted yet another cousin visiting from England and took them to Niagara. (I think I should get a commission from the Niagara tourist authority!!)

Hey Marika and Roger, truly cool pics from you both. Roger-did you take from a plane or the Tower for the aerial views? NF is truly amazing in summer. Got to find the pics and video I took a few years back. :)

Too many people visit Niagara Falls in the summer only, it is so beautiful iln the winter time!
