I was just thinking about how successful Shania's new album will do on the charts. Of course all of her albums are successful in our eyes but in the last few years they have not been recognized the way that they should. She had soooo many songs from UP that could have been hits and in my opinion, that album was not ready to be "put away" like so many radio stations did. Don't and I Aint No Quitter saw virtually no radio play at all because radio stations ignored those. I really hope that this new album is given a lot more attention and a lot more radio play than UP and Greatest Hits did. They were both great albums and I know that this one will be too. Mercury Nashville should really start paying attention to her music again instead of trying to promote new artists like Julie Roberts (No offense to her).

All her albums are successful. Her ALBUM SALES ARE STILL IMPRESSIVE(I speak there about UP! and Greatest Hits) Yeah, she isn`t very successful with singles in North America, but singles from UP! were the most successful singles from all albums in Europe. Party For Two from Greatest Hits was the 2. most successful single of Shania in Europe.
Shania is an artist who has success with albums but not with singles, because she has big fans base! :)

That is a great point! I didnt really think about the album sales part of it. No matter how successful her singles are on radio, she still has mega album sales and Up and Greatest Hits sold a lot of copies. I guess I just wish that her singles would get all of the attention that they deserve.

Yeah, I agree with you. But it is great that she is an artist, who can sell many millions albums and doesn`t have to release single every month :)
There are so many people, who simply can`t live without her music. :)

Well at least for me, fro Up! could've been hits songs like I Ain't Goin' Down, What A Way To Wanna Be or C'est La Vie, between others. Maybe many people rather other "artist" that sing "sexy songs" and the audience rather them; that's a bad way for the musical world; if they follow on this way, getting behind the "true artist" in few years the music is going to break... anyway that's my thought... Something we can't refuse is Up! has a very great sales since its releasse, like GH as well, but she'd got promotioned many other songs very nice and GREAT... with respect to the new CD, I Think it'll be a great success like all Shania'products!

Exactly! Maybe the thing, the reason why he's VERY famous is the time she has between every CD for the releasing, maybe two years, one year, or even 5 years, like between COO and Up! For me that's a great strategy for her, because that is the reason why of her success, the impatiente of her fans, to buy the CDs as soon as posible when it's released!

And of course! We can't live without her music! We WOULDN'T live! :p

lol I know I cant live without her music! Taking such big gaps between albums and then releasing music, is a great way to get all kinds of sales all at once because people want to hear what new creative spin she has taken this time! It is almost mysterious becuase her music is not all the same, she is constantly reinventing herself and I love that about her. :)

Julia Roberts had a tv show on cmt for herself when she made her self titled album she just isnt getting the attention she should be at this point. I dont blame the label for trying to promote her more she needs it because it gets you started. Shania will have fans buying her cd's as any other dedicated fan of an artist would. Shania has been on the label for awhile now. With that comes something new hopefully with Zomba and I think her career is gonna take a needed change. Because she is along this far it isnt a bad thing to do something else. Her heart is still in it her music is in it I think she is ready to let herself be wide open with this album.

With the next album i beleive the first single will hit the Top 10, simply because it will be new Shania music and radio will play it, such as "I'm Gonna Getcha Good" and "Party For Two" both were new and the 1st from a new album and radio plays it because it new music from Shania, then the following singles may be hits all depending on what type of audience they are directed torwards and which stations choose to play them. Anymore these days i seem to be hearing Shania's older music often, not as often as i like but it does get played, so i think with a new single it will hit the Top 10 and possiblt #1 if it is played right and has good promotion by Shania and her label.

I really like all of Up!'s songs, and thought all of them should've been singles in America. Ka-Ching, C'est la Vie, I Ain't Goin' Down, and When You Kiss Me I thought were going to be big hits. Nah! was supposed to be a single, but I heard they ditched it because Up! stopped selling.

I really hope the next album gets the attention it deserves. Shania's not only a singer or performer, but she's behind the scenes writing and Mutt's in the studio producing, so it's not like she's a factory made product. Shania's the boss when it comes to her videos too. Everything she does, she puts her heart and soul into, and there's the other people in music who just do what people tell them to.

I really hope that there are enough singles to last us until her next next album. lol :)

There's too much time between two albums. Come On Over had perfect sales, but (IMO) people forgot about her because she took a break. And now she's doing it again...
Lots of people my age don't even know who Shania is. Untill I tell them about the TDIMM video. Everybody remembers Shania wearing the leopard print, but nobody remembers her face.
I hope the new album will be a hit like COO, but to be honest... I think it won't...

Julie Roberts is not Shania! Julie needs all the help she can get. It's nothing against her, she just isn't the star Shania is, nor will she ever be. I doubt she'll be around long. I hope I'm wrong, but that's what I think. Look at what UP did with virtually no help from that bunch of dweebs at Mercury, another diamond showing. I am beginning to think they wouldn't know how to promote a record if they were led down all the right paths. Shania will sell lots of new CDs when she releases it because we are her fans and we are here to always support her. It's sad though because with help from her label, she could have done even sooo much more.

To be honest I'm not really bothered how "well" the next album does. Selling multi-platinum is a given, but the charts aren't important. The music is what is important.

You're very right, even though the charts or the prices to give are important in the career of every singers in the world, they are goals they hace!;)

of course, the 1st single will make huge success 'cause you know... it's shania;) and the others, it's still a mystery... we'll wait and find out! but i have faith in her and Mutt if they are in fact the writing staff of the next album
