I don't know if this has been discussed before. There are so many topics so it's impossible to tell.. and I'm too lazy to go through 'em all. :D

"The brand new studio album from Diana Krall. Co-produced by Diana Krall and longtime collaborator Tommy LiPuma, Diana's latsst studio album features her interpretations of standards like 'From This Moment On', 'How Insensitive' and 'It Could Happen to You' in quartet and large band settings. Guitarist Anthony Wilson and the Clayton/Hamilton Jazz Orchestra join her on the record."

Is it a cover of our dear Shania?

I'm not sure, it says standards like "FTMO", that's not posible, maybe it's not a cover of her, but I'm not sure cuz I dunno about this info.

I actually noticed now that Frank Sinatra also recorded a song called "From this moment on". Maybe it's a cover of that? Seems more reasonable, although a cover of Shania would be nice too.

I don't want to sound gloomy, or maybe "jazzy" at this point, but I don't think it is the FTMO we have come to love. Maybe I'm wrong, but here is an exerpt from Diana's website about the new album:

“I already knew before we went into the studio the title of the record. I definitely knew it was going to be From This Moment On.”

Cole Porter’s romantic ode to great expectations (with its hip, heartening couplet, “No more blue songs/Only whoop-dee-doo songs”) could not be more apt a title track for Krall’s tenth album. From This Moment On is an eleven-song collection that captures the Canadian-born sensation in full swing, in great company, and at the top of her game. It could also be called her strongest, most cohesive release to date.

You can read the whole bio here: http://www.dianakrall.com/diana.aspx

But, hey, I still love to watch Diana Krall. She's got a nice comfortable way of singing. I sometimes catch her on the Ovation Channel

Hey all, a visiting scribe here from the Diana Krall fan forum (http://www.dianakrallfans.com/forum.html (http://www.dianakrallfans.com/forum.html) - drop by sometime, Diana's sister Michelle has been known to occasionally come by and answer our questions).

Anyhow, I'm not here to spam. Just wanted to let you know the song in question is a swingin' Cole Porter standard, from the musical Kiss Me Kate , probably best known via the Ella Fitzgerald version. Lyrics below.

Now that we are close, no more nights morose,
Now that we are one, the beguine has just begun.
Now that we're side by side, the future looks so gay,
Now we are allibied when we say.......

From this moment on, you for me dear
Only two for tea dear, from this moment on,
From this happy day, no more blue songs,
Only whoop dee doo songs,
From this moment on.
For you've got the love I need so much,
Got the skin I love to touch,
Got the arms to hold me tight,
Got the sweet lips to kiss me goodnight,
From this moment on, you and i, babe,
We'll be ridin' high, babe.
Every care is gone, from this moment on.

I have this same problem with a Faith Hill cd I'm going to buy :P .
There are three songs on the cd with titles simular to Shania's...
Home Ain’t Where His Heart Is
The Women In Me
Raining On Our Love

But I can't find Faith's lyrics from these songs... So I'm really wondering what these songs are like. But I'll let you know as soon as the cd arrived ;) . Or do you guys know?

Really weird. There are three Shania songs on my Faith Hill cd :P . They're not even covers, just Shania's songs on Faith's album... It's a bonus cd from Taiwan, so she's not showing off with Shania's songs, but still I think it's weird...
