Christina Aguilera - Back To Basics

I got "Back To Basics" the day it came out and I have been listening to it ever since. I think it's Christina's best CD yet! It pays omage to the 20s, 30s, and 40s, while sounding modern at the same time. I didn't think there would be a CD that could top the Dixie Chicks' CD but I think this is even better. Disc one is modern with old school throwbacks and has quite a bit of R&B. Disc two sounds totally old school with quite a few ballads. Christina sounds better than ever and I think she's the best vocalist since Mariah Carey.

I would tell my faves but I love them all, except "Nasty Naughty Boy." It's a GREAT vocal, however, it's just too risque for me. "Mercy On Me" is worth the price of the album. It's pretty much a gospel song and her vocals are absolutely amazing!!! It's my favorite.:)

I love Christina I love her new approach to an oldies type sound with mod mix. I still love her song "I Turn To You" I can fricken belt out that song like a pro and don't be messing with my false alto it kicks *** honestly.

IDK, i have really never been too much of a fan of hers anyway, so t don't think i will be buying this CD anytime soon. Yea she is talented but her music isn't my type.

I haven't been much of a fan of Christina's, but I did buy the album. I was surprised it really is a great album.

I'm curious about this album. I've heard the new single and I kinda like it, I think it will grow on me.

I bought Stripped a while ago and was suprised by how good it was. I think I'll pick this up at some point.

This album is just completely amazing :shocked: Vocally..it's just top-notch!! She really belts it out on songs such as Hurt (apparently the next single), Mercy On Me (possibly my favourite song) and The Right Man. Also there are plenty of up-tempo numbers such as Ain't No Other Man, Slow Down Baby (obvious single choice), Still Dirrty and Candyman (LOVE this one...makes me smile everytime). I really love how she made an old school concept album like this....it's so innovative and unlike anything out there at the moment! (HINT HINT Shania ;))

Also congratulations to Christina making the number one with the album in over 11 countries including USA, UK, Australia and Germany! :D

I bought it. Just because she is such a great singer and the concept of two different type of CDs interested me quite. And it IS a great album. And her enjoyment of her own incredible voice - and the music - is such a treat.

Then I happended to see her in MTV Movie Awards and - oh bugger. She looks more like barbie doll as ever. I cannot get over the fact that she looks so different from the way she sounds. Low of me I know, but I always start to wonder which one is the REAL Christina... the other one must be a fake :D .

Even only the old school Cd is worth of buying. I just love Welcome(Circus theme is brilliant), Candyman and Nasty Naughty Boy. The others Cd is less played. Not bad, but not so good.

Now return the other great new cd (Iron Maiden).

I gotta agree with you, the 2nd cd is definitely the best...not a single bad song on it!! I even love Enter the circus and its less than 2 minutes long lol :D I just love that circus theme and Linda Perry sounds soooo cool!!

Hurt is confirmed as the next single....this albums "Beautiful" i think :)

It's a really great album. I like pretty much the entire 2nd disc. Though I enjoy much of the first too.

But this album made me a total fan of Christina. Since I got this one, I also got her other two. All great!
