..... They also drive on the wrong side of the car........ how can anybody make the passenger drive, thats kinda mean. How can you drive yourself anyways, the steering wheel is on the other side of the car. Tell me that isn't wacked, how do they get anywhere. :p
I bet it was exciting, but thats what they get for driving down the road on the wrong side.

Let's see... the first driving experience I had in the UK was in August 2000... had just landed at the Edinburgh airport - then I get the rental car... wonder if the pedals are in the same order (they were)... as the wheel was on the right... but handling the manual gearbox with the left hand was REALLY strange... then straight into a 5 lane clockwise roundabout... woohoo.

Thank you for answering a question of mine, I've always wondered about the pedals too. 5 lane traffic circle, thats gotta be something else. The most I've see have two lanes here and there are alot of people who don't get how that works.
I'm thinking now maybe might be the place I wanna be, being that I'm left handed a left handed car might be nice. Maybe all left handed people should maybe think about moving to England. I'm sick of living in a Right handed country. :p

That's actually what a lot of Finns call the UK:
The Kingdom of Lefties (not in the political sense)
heh... since then, I've always rented an automatic... ;)

 :nervous: Whooooooaaaaaaa!!! I think you got the right idea of the automatic. I think I'd be taking cabs, might be less of a hassle that way. Besides I really don't want to end up in jail because of an accident I caused killed a bunch of people. I'm thinking that might make a trip not so good, although it would be memroble. :p

FANTASTIC THREAD!
I would however like to clear one thing up - it's not us that drive on the wrong side of the road, or car! It's everyone else! :p
Here's one British thing that most people either love or hate!

I could be that honest too, specially if I was getting paid for it. :p
Right, time to clear this up once and for all! As Liz says, we drive on the correct side, everyone else doesn't, just because we're the minority doesn't mean we are wrong...
History lesson - when riding on a horse, most people being right handed it was natural to be on the left of the road, either to shake hands or draw a sword with the person coming the other way. Horses of course eventually "became" cars. ;)

Speaking of the British I have a question. Theres a Macdonalds commercial over here for Sausage McMuffins. In the commercial two guys are talking on the back of a pick-up. Each guy is eating a Muffin, one a brand Muffin and the other a Sausage McMuffin.
1st Guy: Why do they call it a Sausage McMuffin?
2nd Guy: Cause Its got Sausage on it.
1st Guy: No I mean the Muffin part, (points to brand muffin) thats a muffin.
2nd Guy: Thats an English Muffin.
1st Guy: So if I go to England and ask for a Muffin this is What'll they give me?
2nd Guy: Yes
1st Guy: What if I want that kind of Muffin?
2nd Guy: Don't go to England.
Now my question is do they have commercials that stupid in England?
If you ask for a Muffin in England is that what I would get, or is that kinda like a Canadian bacon thing? We use regular bacon, but for some reason they call a peice of ham Canadian bacon.
